For Air agro im putting my money on Chun Li .

I think he still might be good, but the loss of wherebouts hurts him.

Chunner's and Andrew Olexa both take my vote for good air aggro characters.

Someone forgot that everything mentioned shares all with KFT and Yoga Adept... tsk tsk.

actually... I just didn't feel like getting into a counterspell war on the forums, those never end well...

we can assume that anyone who is running a "kill your face" deck is also running, in some form an answer to rejection and an answer to your answers for your answer to rejection, and so on and so forth, and all that's left is the luck of the draw.

i don't think any deck can aford not to run an answer to rejection. i mean if you can't get round rejection, spike, talbain, and cc hax you will never to 8.

Promo Gen, J Talbain, Andrew Olexa, Promo Guy, Promo Alex, Zi mei, Hanzo, Akuma. and many more. block 3 is going to be rough, so many beasts. zhao daiyo is one to watch for as well as seong mina, starter sakura(who is just nasty), starter mai(recognize NOW) etc.

i agree with you except starter mai. i just don't think she has the power to top 8 at a major event.

Promo Gen is bad. There I said it. I say play a character with abilities that actually matter ^^

where is Chun-li?

Look.

Trane.

The past 5 posts I have seen of yours, you have done nothing but ramble about Chun-li. Frankly, it's annoying, and asking me "Where's Chun-li?" as if I am wrong when it is merely my opinion is mildly insulting.

You want to know where Chun-li is?

Chun-li is "Tier" 1.5 and if piloted by an extremely skilled pilot she is MAYBE tier 1. Otherwise I do not find her at all threatening. The fact that she is present on the board means you are aware of her abilities and therefore can dance around them. There's no surprise factor in her abilities, and anybody worth their salt already knows how to beat her.

Chun-li is good, but not godly. I imagine she will have her fair share of top 8 finishes but MY list (please note that it is my list) covers a wide and consistent spectrum of deck types.

Please also note that Chun-li is vastly inferior to Andrew Olexa, or anybody who doesn't need to do anything other than Spike you as their only form of the turn.

if there was a wide range of decks that could spike without ever playing more than 2 foundations then chun li would be worthlese. due to the fact that all decks (minus J. T.) need to play 2 foundations at least once she is a good charecter. she esentialy says you may play a free reversal at least once a game (except against jt). i personaly think this makes her good. she has an ability to completly disrupt an oponents turn. i don't think she will win the worlds, or that she is the end all be all charecters in b3. but i feel that with the ability to hit yer oponents on a build turn with a spike, darknese blade, etc she is easily in the top 8. andrew olexa may be beter than chun li but he is only one char, if everyone ran promo dhalsim becuase they were woried that someone would play j t they would just lose to some other deck. this is not the top 2, it's not andrew olexa vs. chun li. also i don't even play chun li so just becuase i respect her more than you doesn't mean all i do is rant about her.

Most decks play more than 2 foundations turn 1. And there ARE a wide range of decks that can spike without playing more than two foundations.

Against chun li, decks will mulligan for either a Tag Along or Seal of Cessation for their turn 1 if they need to setup further. Others will fish out Forethought and Blood Runs True. Still others will drop Amy's Assistance or other soakage.

I've acknowledged that she is a good character, she is just not as big of a threat as people are making her out to be. She's mostly talk, and the fact that you continue to praise her without even playing her means you have no ethos in trying to defend her to me.

look archimedes, i have never lost to chun li, but she is like J T. she changes the way you play. any charecter who makes oponents play cards diferently just becuase of a built in ability is very good. J t does that. chun li does that. chun li is not nearly as good as j t, but she is still a continual top eight contender.

I have never lost to Chun li in competitive play, what's your point?

Sure, she changes the way the opponent plays the game. Until you draw a bloody 1 card answer for her.

She's nothing like Talbain.

Alright ladies....relax...

We know chun-li can be competitive, but enough of that "if i just have one card" talk...its plain annoying.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. I do have to agree with Scott Gaines on this one...there is such a wide variety of characters out there that can easily top 8. While there will be a few that almost will always see top 8 I do see quite a few random characters coming in and out of competitive play. With the latest sets there are so many who are Tier 1 viable with the right build. I do think that creative builds at this point will be more dominant in the tournament season. People build to deal with the Olexas, Donovans, and the like...taking people by suprise will be crucial at the larger events.

If I had to pick top 8

Zi Mei

Promo Alex

Olexa

Seong Mi-Na

Akuma

Promo Guy

Basara

Victor

Just my opinion, but I fully expect that there will be many suprises this season. I have to say tho I am excited to see what suprises there will be...its far better than how dominant just a few select characters were so dominant in block 2.

i have also only played her for times, and tied 3. and i didn't say she is as good as talbain i just sayed she is highly disruptive. she changes the way people play. even if she is only "tier one and half" people have to have an answer for her at big tournies.

When you guys lose to my gen in an event, don't come crying home. 7hs 24vit will own you and i has order? DIE NOW.

and he has decent/bad abilities, so with that kinda suport (order for suport, order, spike, or earth for kill) he is deadly.

Starter Sagat is a sleeper. Once I build and test my Earth idea with him i'll see whether or not he is as good as I pray he is.

sagat is char who has amazing abilities and poor symbols. or so i thought. then one day earth and air got good, and somehow no one uses him. i bet he will top 8 a couple times, but i don't expect him to be one of the best 8 chars this year.

I too would like to see sagat tiger fury into someone's chin. it can be done, but who will pull it off.

actualy you tiger furied quite a few chins when sagat was first realeased, but that was off fire.

MT_Do, will you settle for Sagat burning people's faces off with Fweem Beam? Though with my current strategy I could also use Tiger Fury

Here's hoping my and DaiAndOh's Sagat idea works!

My 2 cents worth, in no particular order:

Any character that can run Feline Spike

3. Talbain (w/obligitory stacking of his other incarnations) is extremely retarded.

3.Terry...i'm very surprised no one seconded the OP's mention of Wild Wolf Bogard; he's dumb. Revitalize on a stick, wicked symbol spread, and static card draw that essentially makes him an 8hs character. My favorite character in UFS by far!

Promo Guy i think is underrated, and should be mentioned as a bona fide contender.
