Buying decision...second core set or all of the deluxe expansions or both?

By chart79, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

So I'm new to AOGT LCG and card games in general. I've bought one copy of the core set so far. I'd like to expand my stable of cards to build bigger decks (60 card range), provide variety (i.e. be able to play with different houses) and to have playable decks on hand for getting some friends into the game. It looks like a lot of people suggest getting a second core set but I'm wondering if it's better to do that or just buy each of the houses' deluxe expansion set, especially now with the new Lannister expansion. Obviously getting just a second core set would be cheaper than all six of the expansion sets but it seems like the houses would be more balanced with all six of the expansions sets and I'm not too concerned with the cost. I'm not sure if I'll be buying any chapter packs, I'll have to see how many of my friends get into playing the game. So what's a better option to accomplish the objectives I mentioned above?

1) Just getting a second (and third?) core set

2) Skipping the multiple core sets and just getting each house's expansion set

3) Getting a second core set and then the Grejoy and Martell expansion sets so I have all six houses

Thanks in advance for the advice!

I would get the house expansions first, then later on get a second core set.

if you want more variety, get the other sets. Getting more core sets allows you to make better focused decks...but it sounds like what you want is the be able to play casually with friends for now.

Yeah, I'm definitely more interested in casual play versus building tournament level decks so it sounds like the expansions sets are the way to go. Thanks for the help!
