For the love Pete, can we have a mute button please? Even better, make it OPT IN. The little flash animation with sound crap is pretty annoying. There is little more jarring then random noise spouting out at you.

Here, here! Flashy is nice but noice isn't. Web pages should be quiet by default. Nothing I hate more than to have to reach for the mute button after loading a new site.
