Reprinted LCG cards vs original CCG cards

By jgt7771, in CoC General Discussion

I'm more of a collector than a player, so I'm sorta fighting my hungry Completist urges with all these reprints coming out.

All of the changes to the cards are text-based, right? No artwork is being changed?

I figure the new "Forgotten Lore" cards would probably have a great deal of text changes (not to mention updated numbering and an new "umbrella" icon), but wouldn't the Summons from the Deep cards be able to avoid text changes?

No one has any idea if the card has not been spoiled here. In the AGoT LCG, some of the reprints of CCG cards do use different artwork... but there was a template change that happened during its run as an LCG so I assume some of the art just didn't hold up for one reason or another. No idea if that will be true for this game.

In the CCG (Forgotten Relics U42) the artwork was from Eric Wilkerson; the new art is from Patrick McEvoy. Apart from that all that changed is that some cards show more of the original art and/or aren't as dark.

Many reprinted Forgotten Lore cards have at least some changes: The game texts have been clarified and sometimes 'nerfed', costs have gone up, icons have been removed, card names have been corrected. If you are using Nyarlazorbec's Deck Builder (eric.minet.free.fr/cocbuilder/index_en.htm) you can quite easily compare the reprinted Spawn of Madness against the original to get an idea.

The reprinted Summons of the Deep card don't have any art changes, but cards have been changed to incorporate errata.
