Tyrion and Tywin Art
Beautiful paintings.
The art for Tywin is sick. I love the bold primary colors you used. Fantastic card too!
The Tywin art is probably closest to my own imagination of Tywin, i really like him. Tyrion is also an outstanding artwork, but i would expect him to look somehow different.
Tywin's face is, just captivating. You can tell he is a hard ass with no yield in him, full of piss and vinegar and schemes. And gold. Don't forget he is full of gold.
Beautiful as always. Tyrion is not quite what I imagined from the books, but still a wonderful piece of art.
Tywin looks regal and stern, just as I pictured him.
I love both arts but especially Tyrion one cause is "like I imagined it reading the book". The background and the clothes details are outstanding... anyway... Tywin is fearable :-)
Tywin's armour is bad-ass!
You've absolutely knocked the ball out of the park with that Tywin art.
I like Tyrion, but Tywin's art is just incredible! Very well done!
Great art as always!
It's a pity they only come out in december, otherwise we could have an autographed Tywin already in Stahleck!

Maybe we can have a Tywin at the wall or something like this? *Looks at Tiziano and Franz Miklis*.

Thanks!
perpetual noob Thank you, Tywin is an intriguing character to paint, I'm really happy about the community's reaction to my view of him.
Lannister colors help, gold and red really make a piece sing
Old Ben
Thank you.
of course everybody has a different face for the characters in his/her mind.
I find Tyrion almost daunting, he is young , he is deformed and ugly (Martin is pretty clear on that) and at the same time he must have an echo of the twins' features, just twisted. Moreover nowadays many people will have Peter Dinklage in mind when thinking of him. Painting Tywin was almost relaxing, after his son.
Penfold Thank you. To me having a good idea of a character's personality is almost more important than having a precise description, glad that Tywin's character comes through.
ASoIaFfan Thank you.
Gualdo
Thanks so much! And looks like I've been lucky with card playability this time
Saturnine
Thank you, I do enjoy painting metal.
LoneWanderer I'm honored, Ser.
Twn2dn Thank you very much!
Lord of Blades
Thanks! I can't influence the selling date for the Chapter Packs, but at least I can guarantee that there will be autographed
prints
of Tywin in Stahleck.

: Who knows? I'll keep the possibility in mind.
The thing I love about the Twyin painting is the face, particularly the eyes and mouth. The redness of the eyelids really does it for me. Tywin also communicates disappointment to the viewer, which I find very appropriate.
It's deeply satysfying to show one's work to people that goes deep in it, thank you again.
In my opinion a face has a lot of a person's character and history etched on it and I tend to make up a backstory for every piece. What has happened before? What is he doing? What is he thinking? Did he have a full night's sleep or did he spend the night planning? I'm told it's a bit like how an actor prepares for a scene, and, in my opinion there are similarities in the result both an actor and an illustrator aim to.
Glad you feel his disappointment, my wife keeps quoting the 'You have been weighted, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting' line when she sees him.
Lovely art. Tywin looks a lot like Bill Nighy to me, which is certainly not a bad thing.
Excellent artwork for both characters.
Unfortunately, the HBO show has cast them so well, that my mental image of the characters is now forever stuck on Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance. Dance was actually how I pictured Tywin in my head-- sort of an icy character, hard like metal.
It must be tough as an artist, now that there is a TV show with a lot of these characters in it, not to subconsciously drift toward making them look similar.
Funny thing is, my mental image of Tyrion was Peter Dinklage before there was ever an HBO series. One of the biggest no-brainer casting choices in history.
alpha5099 Thank you! I have been told of the Nighy resemblance, IMO it's the prominent forehead (although that's mine) and possibly the chin. I'm glad I didn' paint an exact portrait by chance ( I've been told Tywin looks like Peter Weller as well).
Once my mother painted a vampire for a site offering ready-made RPG portraits, using an old family photo as reference, and all her American collegues went 'It's Mister Rogers!'. She felt like she had turned everybody's favorite uncle in a vampire...
Sluggonics very true, on all accounts, Peter Dinklage is Tyrion from what I've been able to see ,and Charles Dance is a great actor, I'm sure he's a wonderful Tywin. What one can do (just as with Lord of the Rings) is to go 'by the book' as it were, using the descriptions in the novels as a guideline and trying to 'shut out' the actors' faces. It does help a bit when the character has some distinctive mark the actor/TV character doesn't have (like Syrio's baldness or Tywin's sideburns).
JackT indeed, even though (luckily for mr. Dinklage) he doesn't look like Tyrion, but the spirit is all there.
