Some questions about LE30 Kairos Fateweaver (Corruption and reaction with LE26 Judgement of Loec)

By cchopman, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

LE30 Kairos Fateweaver

Each development you control becomes a unit with 2 hit points and 2 Powers. It still counts as a development.

LE26 Judgement of Loec

Attach to a target unit or development. Attached card is considered to have a blank text box, loses all power, and becomes a development.

MC14 Den of iniquity

Units in a zone with no developments enter play corrupted.

Q1: Under the circumstance of "Den of iniquity" and "Kairos Fateweaver", what happens to the development-unit after I played it into a zone without development? Will it be corrupted?

Q2: Can I corrupt a development-unit (by some other card effect, such as Kairos Fateweaver) ?

Q3: I’ve already attached my “Judgement of Loec” to an opponent’s unit, so the opponent’s unit becomes a development. What happens to this development when my opponent play his “Kairos Fateweaver” from his hand? Will this development become a 2/2 unit?

Q4: What happens to a development-unit (by some other card effect, such as Kairos Fateweaver) when I attach “Judgement of Loec” to it?

Thanks for reply...happy.gif

Q2: If it is at least a unit, then yes you can corrupt it.

Q3: The development would become a 2/2 unit, but it would lose all power, all HP and would no longer be a unit, so it would be a "super-blanked" development.

Q4: Same as Q3.

Q1: By playing a development-unit in the specific zone there is a development in that zone, so Den of Iniquity's constant effect will not trigger.

For Q2 and 3 wouldn't the Loec'd unit still have 2 HP from Kairos? Loec doesn't say "loses all HP"

Loec says the unit becomes a development. The attached card is not a unit anymore. Developments have no hit points.

There were questions about Loec before, here :

“Does the unit cease to be a unit when it becomes a development?
Does it lose its traits (including 'Hero')?
If this is played on a unique character, are you able to play another copy of that character?
If this is played on a character that is on a quest, is there still a character on the quest? If not, can you play another character onto this quest?"

Here is the response from Lukas:

"The unit it is attached to stays face-up and is considered to be a development for as long as Judgement of Loec remains attached. The unit is no longer considered to be a unit, has no power, HP, cost, loyalty, traits or text box. It does, however, retain its title and uniqueness and is considered to be in play, so if it is played on a unique character you could not play another copy of that character. If it is played on a unit that is questing, that unit is no longer considered to be on the quest, and you will remove all tokens from the quest card as well as place the card in the quest zone and off the quest."

The attached card is still a unit in his example, because Kairos is in play.

I'm pretty sure it retains its HP. It only loses whatever Loec specifically takes away from it. Both Loec and Kairos are non-triggered constant effects, so they are both in effect all the time and you take the net of their effects.

The real question is, why in the world would you play 'Judgement of Loec' on a development/unit in the first place? If Fatweaver is out, one little Loec is not going to do a thing to stop him. So you stopped one dev/unit. So what. I guess knowing the proper reaction to that play for the sake of knowing is fine. But, in the end it means nothing.

I think the scenario being put out here was that you have already used Loec to nullify a (powerful) unit, then Kairos is played afterwards.

Gotcha. Makes more sense.

Hi so any rules update refarding khairos and loec in play together?
