I had a great time playing you in the second round at Gencon. I knew that my Targ deck wasn't going to beat Martell summer but I really didn't care. Your deck was really well built(by Corey that is. ). Congrats on getting to top 16. Too bad you had to go up against Jonathan twice. I have to play against him all the time at home and he's a really good player. I hope to be there next year and maybe I'll build an actually competitive deck this time.

Excellent report; I agree with you regarding the prize support and melee shenanigans. I'm not sure single elimination is the way to go, but I think swiss "pairings" might be helpful, although smarter folks than I (ktom) have said that it's mathematically and organizationally problematic.

I played Longclaw after your match and heard the story of the tie. That's pretty sweet to be honest; you don't see many of those and I always enjoy hearing about two excellent players grinding it out like that.

Your report really makes me wish I could have swung the trip this year. We'll see on next.
