Puzzle 5A

By cliffetters, in Mansions of Madness

I did a pretty quick search of the forums and checked the errata, but there doesn't seem to be any answer addressing this question.

The rules for solving the puzzle 5A (the Triangle) seem to be rather perplexing. According to the rules, the tiles in this puzzle can only be rotated 120°. Unless I'm missing something, it's nigh impossible to rotate the square tiles 120° and have a meaningful solution, so should the tiles rotate 90° or 180°?

If I'm feeling particularly mean I make it 180°, making it pretty **** hard and probably requiring several piece swaps and maybe even an extra turn to solve it. Anyone else have any suggestions or thoughts?

The 120 degrees is referring to the setup (center) tile, the one that has the 5A on it, triangle-shape.

"If attempting a Lock puzzle, the player may rotate
the puzzle setup tile by 180 degrees for puzzle 4 (rectangle),
by 120 degrees for puzzle 5 (triangle), or by 90 degrees for
puzzle 6 (cross)." (p. 18)

Puzzle tiles still rotate normally, 90 degrees per one action.

And yet again proof that reading is fundamental, and the explanation as to why there are no forum entries about this.

Thanks for the help!

LOL... I just realized I forgot the detail that the players can rotate the actual center puzzle piece.... ooops!
