Questions about attachments

By Nanich, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I often have attachments attached to my characters.

When I kneel a character, can I still use a "kneel" ability of an attachment?

IF i got right your question....When you kneel a character , it doesn't mean that an attachment on him/her automatically kneels along with the character.

All cards kneel independently of each other. Kneeling the character does not kneel the attachment - or vice versa.

**** i get better and better !! :P

Here's a situation - I have a maester with two chains on him, one of which states "when attached character kneels, do X" and the other chain states something like "kneel attached character to do X". I declare the maester character as a defender and then kneel him. The chain that states "when attached character kneels, do X" triggers its affect. Can I also activate the other chain that states "kneel attached character to do X"?

In another instance, I am not kneeling to defend or attack but I can kneel the character to activate both chains. Is this correct?

In the end, this is the textbook difference between a cost ("do X to do Y") and a play restriction ("after X happens, do Y").
