My brother and I noticed recently that it seems like one of the reasons that silver and especially gold level becomes unbalanced toward the heroes is the lack of scaling for the OL. The dungeon levels all have a leader that's +x number of hps regardless of level. One of the things that we're going to start experimenting with is making that +x at copper, +2x at silver and +3x at gold... I was wondering if anyone else had tried this and what, if any, luck they had doing it.
Monster health in RtL
I'm still playing my 1st campaign, and we are still at copper.
However, lots of other threads seems to say that Copper level is too hard for the heroes and Gold level is a waste of time because it is too easy.
I was considering a simple solution to this in changing the monster stats - weaker at copper, better at gold. Not tried and it am very uncomfortable about doing it as it is a fairly major change.
As for your idea, I think it is a great one, and I agree, but lack the experience of playing at Silver / Gold to really know
How you add the feats in changes the copper balance. In addition once heroes learn to only do the first level of the first dungeon and then run copper gets a bunch easier.

This idea of scaling the Boss HP was one of those that I proposed in my general rebalancing fixes.
I think that it works really well, but is insufficient by itself to make Gold level (and also the Avatar fight) reasonable.
