what i could do a couple days ago

By trane2, in UFS General Discussion

before james hada said lynx tail had to be a positive number, think about this: playing new chun li, first turn, play look inward and random other cards, next turn, play lynx tail and use it's e, then use look inwards e, than play kft or other speed boost. isn't this redicouluos? any sugestions to make it beter?

Wait... speed boosts on Lynx Tail?

My Lynx Tail would usually be something like [-8995 speed] [low zone] [9002 damage]. I'm not going to play speed pumps greater than +9000 just to make it so my opponent will have to check a positive number to block. Deceptive Quickness would be able to make the speed go directly to 5 or 6, or you could just discard their hand, which is extremely synergistic with Chun Li anyway. [T1 drop Ways of Punishment, Martial Arts Champion, Glare from the Abyss; let them go, stopping a card draw ability with MAC, your turn do Lynx Tail + discard 6 via ***, commit Glare+Chun Li, gg]

Hang on, you mean they've ruled it so that you can give infinite damage boosts to Lynx Tail? Thats absurd...

EDIT: Scratch that, just re-read it. Stupid me :D Thank God for that...

Yeah, speed boosts on a broken lynx tail. Raphael would give your -8995 speed, 9002 damage lynx tail +17997 speed.

but (thankfully) it doesn't work that way :-P it's still a 8L8 in Raph though.

look inwards turns a cards speed to half it's printed speed, so that would give lynx tail 2 speed.

^o i c. That still leaves you open to stuff like -speed (Look Inward lol) + block or Rejection, in addition to other problems ("reduce to printed" effects like Holding Ground or Assassination Arts). If you pitch their hand, they have to either have a ready Gorgeous Team/Kabuki Artist to fish for Rejection, or have a reduce-to-printed effect on the board and ready in order to survive.

^^ Lynx Tail can only receive -damage [since X must be positive] and Raph makes speed = damage... he either goes 7L0, or 4L4. I think he should stick to Tsunami Sabre...

the reason i was thinking about using this is on turn 1 or 2 it is hard to block a 7+ speed attack.

the interger thing messed with my brain and I thought lynx tail did something else >_<

well james hada saved you and the world from the chun li deck i was making with lynx tail. even i am happy about the eratta.

look inwards reduces speed. useless for lynx tail.

NO part of this "combo" ever worked.

you can't reduce upwards. you can't pick negatives for X.

you could reduce pick a negative for x before james said you couldn't. i have always played that you could use look inwards to turn the speed to whatever half of it's printed speed is.

Just because you chose to play it incorrectly doesn't mean you were actually suppose to.

Rules Lawyers who try to win by being Rules Lawyers piss me off.

Play the game, enjoy it. Don't abuse it because you're ruining it for everyone else.

Now if it DID work the way u wanted it to (u know... the... K i win now yeah?) there was 1 way u could make this work instead of look inward to do something u couldve used Deceptive Quickness' R to change the speed to watever u check. But since its all done and unbusted it doesnt matter

That being said, closing the game off to lawyers would be the best solution.

what make me laugh at peoples like ( insert power gamer name here ), who build "ultimate broken combos", is that when the opposite player does the same and kill them cheaply, they are the first to stand up and yell to the world how unfair and cheap that was, sometimes even unsulting their opponent for their lack of talent and fairness

.

As a long time D&D player i've seen this kind of players often, and they are called power-gamers... always trying to abuse, turn the fun only to them on the depend of others...

"if you multiclass in this and that and that, take this feat and that weapon you break the game! "

Then one day, the dungeon master got tired of fighting with them, arguing all day long "no you won't ruin my game with that" ...

instead, one day, he listened to their last new "broken plan" and used it against them. The ultimate broken combo fighter as a dungeon final boss...

hell we died, and badly, but it was the most fun of my life looking at those who had fun on us, be the first to yell how unfair that was, how broken, cheap and insulting that was... until they realized it was their own invention... their creation...

they left, we took others players who wanted to have fun, and we had fun from now on... we led a happy life and had much babies

that would work better. i am not a lawyer so your solution is meaningless.
