@peacekeeper: May you link to unfficial SSU minis? I'm interested.

And i'm totally against that FFG take AT-43 minis for the SSU. As someone said they're ugly.

Personally, while I see much similarity in the themes and can see where the two settings diverged, I would rather AT43 stay its own setting and its own game with a revised 2nd edition and update.

The Otto kit does indeed come with all the base parts of the KV47 in plastic. Ill take pics of the sprues tonight when I get home and try and get them posted. Kit comes with the plastic parts to make a KV47A (2 76mm genade launchers), KV47B (2 Heavy flamethrowers), as well as 2 chainsaws. All the additionnal parts to make the Otto are cast in resin.

Not that I think there is a shred of truth in this rumor about rehashing the Reds as SSU, I really do not want to see it happen. I myself am happy with the factions out now, and due to the overwhelming silence on the SSU, I would imagine you will be seeing them in December or 1st Quarter 2012.

I, for one, although I think AT43 are cool and Redblok wouldn't look out of place in DUST, don't like the idea, as others already said, that such models are released for DUST.

I'd rather prefer more "setting appropriate" models. So SinoSoviets with Telogreika suits and crude looking armour plates, model 40 helmets, Tokarev like ARs, PPSh like guns, Maxim like machine guns and crude equipment for them.

But I would not mind anybody bringing Redbloks with appropriate cards to a friendly game or as a stopgap.

You forget Degtyarev and AK47.

And a Medium walker with a huge rocket rack. A Sniper team with a female observer would be nice (Enemy at the Gates)...

Also, infantry walker riders, or armour 2 infantry able to share a square with a walker...
