Mistake on Leaders?

By The Sorcerer King, in Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition

I am a huge fan of using most of the optional rules, and the leaders are one such rule that I've particularly enjoyed, however, there appears to be some incongruencies on a few of the tokens.

Firstly, two of the Jol-Nar leaders have the name "Rin"- the admiral and one of the scientists. While this may be a minor issue, I do wonder what one of the names was supposed to be and if there are replacements.

Perhaps more importantly, the leaders for the L1Z1X seem to be all wrong. I've read on multiple occasions that the L1Z1X leaders are supposed to be 2 Generals and an Admiral- while the L1Z1X leader tokens have everything BUT a general or admiral!

I apologize if these issues were addressed before, but I found nothing about it in the FAQ, and was wondering if anyone had any insight into the problem- any info on whether I'm missing something or this is just a mistake would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

L1Z1X Leaders are: Agent, Diplomat, Scientist

After taking another look at your post I realize that my answer proberbly wasn't what you wre looking for. The Leaders you mention (2xGen+1Adm) are actually those of the N'orr...

Huh. I would have thought the L1Z1X would have at least have had an admiral, considering all their space combat focus, but I must have read the wrong posts, or mistaken their leaders for the N'orr.

Thanks for answering! I suppose the L1Z1X leaders are just unexpected rather than incorrect. The same name for two of the Jol-Nar leaders still has me upset, though for purely aesthetic reasons.

L1z1x leaders have been misreported like that in various iterations of the race lists for a long time. Probably a N'orr copypaste error way back when that just stuck because lists were mostly updated with expansion stuff or based on previous ones instead of being rebuilt from the ground up.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm happy someone is making such lists so I can theorycraft without wading through the box or having to make some myself.

In any case, I submitted this and some other corrections to what seems to be the most current version of such lists on BGG.

And 1x probably don't have an Admiral (despite being a Dreadnought race) for good reason, to deny them 2-reach colonisation turn one with their stasis caps.

It's not uncommon for more than one person (or sentient being, if you prefer) to have the same name. It's just uncommon for game designers to take that fact into consideration. =P

The two Rins can still be differentiated by their leader class, so it's not game breaking (even if they were the same class I don't see it causing too many problems - how often do you actually refer to the leaders by name anyway?) It's possible that this was an error in design that they never bothered to fix, but I like to think they did it on purpose as a nod to the fact that names are not actually unique in the real world and they probably wouldn't be in any reasonable fictional setting like TI's.
