My Axis Forces

By Dakkon426, in Dust Tactics

I use brass rod to make my sniper rifles. Its tricket to drill out but make it perfectly straight.

Thanks. its really easy to do with a small drill and bit. I like it better than reshaping as it will never bend out of shape this way again.

OMFG ZOMBIES!

Are those yours Dak? I see you use folkart paints?Good choice you get a lot of paint for a good price. Oh and nice minis!!!

I use about 50/50 craft paint and artist paint, and I have some vellejo and GW paint as well. the craft metallic paint has too coarse a grain so I use GW for that and couldn't fine a good looking golden yellow so i went vellejo for that. but other wise I try to mix and shade to get the color I want.

Agreed. With the price of GW paints the craft paints are a real steal.

Paint work is awesome I must say.

But I wonder why don't you guys straight up the guns/antennas etc (hot/cold water, hair dryer/cold water) before painting??? It's simple and models look way better :D

I don't have access to a hair drier right now. otherwise I like the look of the bent antennas and some of the stuff gets bent in transport. rigbt now Move about every 10 weeks so some things take a back seat.

Transporting those must be a pin in the ass, no wonder they are bended all the time if you move them around ;) If i had one of those they would prolly be bended around poor guy's neck:p

I discuss how I handle the fixing of the guns and flame thrower guys earlier in the thread. Check it out.

Work in progress for Lara, any suggestions? Still need to do the ammo pack and random details.

How about a little bit of chipping on those nice red details?

chipping will be the last thing I do still need an Idea for the back pack, I can't decide how to paint it.

Well here they are. next up I think will be a Lothar.

Very creative snow camo patterns. DO you ever consider using a little wash to bring out the details?

I've actually washed all of them just its not showing well in the pictures.

Great work on all of your stuff. I particularly like the commoe on the infantry.

If I may make one humble suggestion. I notice that you leave your eyes all white?

Eyes yous to throw me fits until I stumbled onto a 01 Micron pen at my local arts and craft store. This little gem give me that perfect eye 95% of the time. Five percent of the time my aim is off. But infinitely easier than with a brush.

Wow. Your stuff is amazing. Any particular tutorials you follow or do you just wing it?

originaly I followed the tutorials that ffg posted here and whatever I found on the web but now I just browse through pics and see what I like and give it a try.
