hey new here and to game/sum questions

By Error 718, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

hello, i am new to the game and really like it, have some questions though:

1:is there any rules (official or other wise) for the female german lady (sigrid?) when mounted in a mech?...i see in the comic dust that she goes about in one and is pictured on the net in a few mechs with 88 guns on. just woundered if there was any rules/made up ones that players were using?

2:this new box set with the core rules revised, i cant find a date for when its out, has there one been confirmed yet?

thanks in advance

1. There are no official rules for attaching a hero to a vehicle. Haven't seen any home made ones either...

2. They were already selling it at GenCon last week, but I think it'll only be officialy relased towards the end of the month - early September.

1.There isn't a rule to attach the hero on a walker but there is a rule that solo heroes (hero unattached to a unit)can share a space with a walker. So maybe Sigrid is sharing a square :P

2. Waiting for it as well, but the revised rules are downloadable via the DT support page.

Been toying around with rules for heroes in walkers. Basically came up with the following to modifiers:

1) Hero must start in walker, but can leave it, much the same as a squad. When hero is in walker they "share" health and damage. But the hero only adds 1/2 of their health to the walker not full. If they leave the walker then any damage the walker has taken is split evenly between walker and hero as the owning player wishes (meaning if it has taken 4 damage, each will have 2 damage when splitting, if it has 3 damage the player may assign the damage as he pleases, as long as one takes 1 point and the other 2 points). Abandoned walkers no longer move or fire, but still provide cover and block line of sight.

2) A hero is considered to have the special skill of PILOT when in a walker. This allows them to reroll a single die (one die, no matter how many were rolled) per round while in the walker.

Still trying to figure out who can pilot what. Thinking a walker that a hero decides to pilot must have equal damage capacity or mabe be of at least twice coressponding armor class. So a Infantry 2 could pilot a Walker 4, but not walker 3. A Infantry 3 would have to pilot at least Walker 6 and so forth.

Also working on an idea for "popping the hatch" which allows the pilot to fire their own weapons but it costs an additional action (one for the walkers a second for their own) and while popped the vehicle has its armor class reduced by 1. While popping the hatch they cannot use their PILOT skill.

I like the idea of some of them rules, i thought you could add the points of the hero to the walker two so sigrid would add here points to a walkers 4. PLus maybe just carry over her skill, which if i remember corect lets her re roll dice.

One other thing i was looking at on this site there is a german squad with a sgt with flat cap with x2 panzers (tank killer squad)...but i cant find anywhere else that sells this box set....did this just become the normal pazer box set with x2 panzers or is it something special?????

thanks
