I have a player who wants a Ripper pistol from Rogue Traders Into the Storm, I've priced the pistol at 375 but am unsure at what to cost the ammo at. Any suggestions?
Thanks

A Ripper pistol is a bit better than a bolt pistol, so you could use that as a guide. They hit harder than a bolt pistol* so perhaps 20-25 thrones for one round? (instead of 16/1 for the bolt pistol)
At 'Extremely Rare' though, I would probably charge more than 375 thrones though, they are the ultimate in (non-Officio) SP handguns after all.
S/2/- !D10+3 Pen7 Clip8 Tearing, Toxic = Awesome. I think this is one of the quiet sleepers of the handgun superstar line up. One of these paired with a Lathe sword will suit my Assasssin very nicely I think.
* D10+3 Pen7 tearing and toxic verses D10+5 Pen4 tearing (not as much raw damage, but the penetration and toxic qualities tip it to win the race though I have not done the math-hammer).
You might also want to consider the Hyper Density Penetrator rounds (Inquisitors Handbook, I think) for comparison when pricing your Ripper Pistol ammo.
They halve range, add +2 pen, tearing, and man-size targets must pass a Toughness +10 test or be knocked down. They are 100 thrones EACH!
I would say they would be classed as exotic. That would make them at least 16 thrones a round...
My Arch-Militant in RT used it as his primary weapon. He had mighty shot and Pistol Mastery, giving him 1d10+7 Pen 7, toxic. He killed things dead. But then he was meant to be a kind of duellist character who killed people with single shots (preferably to the head). However, I do think the Pen is a bit over-the-top. I think the weapon is based off the Catachan character Sly Marbo, the one man army. He has (or had) a Ripper pistol which always wounded on a 4+ (or was it 2+) due to toxins, and he had really good AP. However, the high AP I am fairly sure was meant to reflect his shot placement (ie at exposed areas and weak points), rather than the inherent penetration of the weapon.
Im going to go for 20/1 which is exotic weapon ammo cost, thanks for the help guys.
