I understand you cannot play a copy of a unique card when one is in play if I have a Dire wolf attachment and a character of the card in my hand and the attachment gets discarded can i play the character version of the card Like Grey Wolf or Shaggy Dog for example?

What made you think you couldn't? If a unique attachment gets discarded, it in your discard pile, so you are free to bring another card with the same title into play. If you have the character out first and it gets killed, it goes to your dead pile, and would prevent you from bringing into play any card with the same title.

Good point ... punctuation wouldn't hurt. It was another player from the shop I go to that said it was not possible. Thank You for the Help.
