various questions

By bluewalink, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

hopefully i can remember all my questions...

first... when attacked with a deadly creature, can i block with a non-deadly, then choose him as the person to die for deadly and as my military sacrifice? or do they have to be seperate characters?

When you have a character that has "response - when this character is declared as an attacker or defender, discard one attachment from a participating character" Do you have to use the response? or is it optional?

my girlfriend kicks my ass with her dragon deck, sorry im new to game and dont remember house names... what is a good opposing deck house? I hate losing to her, she smack talks alot :-P

The "you do a military challenge with a deadly character, I defend with a non-deadly character, I choose the only defender for claim when I lose, then I have no eligible characters to die for deadly" is a very, very common move.

Card effects that do NOT have that bold word are not optional and you have to resolve their effects whether you want to or not.

If you are playing 1-on-1, Lannister (the yellow House) is usually a good counter to dragons. You can kneel her dragons so that they just sit there doing nothing all round. You can do a lot on Intrigue (green) attacks so that she pretty much never has cards in her hand. And you can field a lot of little characters so that when her dragons are overwhelming you, there is a lot of riff-raff for your big guys to hid behind. Martell (the orange House) works very well, too, for a lot of the same reasons.

thank you tons :) She has alot of cards, i think all the cards except the newest one, i think she said comes out in september or she is getting it in september. But i will try making a lannister deck :)
