Placing clue tokens on open gates?

By Dr. Jay, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Just a quick rule question I could not find an answer to in the manual or on the forums.

If a location already has an open gate, not opening a new one, and it calls for placement of a clue token at that location. Do you place the token or is it assumed that the gate eats it? For instance, a gate is already present at 'The Unnamable', your next mythos card calls for clue placement at this location. What do you do with the clue token?

Thanks!

Restraining myself.

Arkham Horror Rulebook, page 10: "Most mythos cards indicate where a Clue token appears. Place a Clue token on the indicated location unless there is an open gate there."

Well, thanks for 'restraining yourself'.

I guess I just missed it or did not register it in the multiple times I have been through the rulebook.

The index is your friend, "Clue tokens, placing, 10."

That said, no matter how many times I read A Game of Thrones-LCG, I'll never understand it.

Do the newer manuals have indexes? That's nice... Mine's first edition. Bleh.

the DH one has a register/index for both base game and DH rule book i think. though if the pages in the original and 2nd edition of the rulebook in the base game has changed that doesn't help much i suppose..
