Necrons ? to dangerous ?

By Buddy, in Black Crusade

Hey Everybody ! I'm a Gm playing i Rogue Trader game with my players and it its great ! but when i heard about Black crusade and i told my players about they where thrilled about the idear of playing the "bad" guys.
So we decied to play rogue trader and also Black crusade when it comes out, where we could swith between every 4-5 session or so.
But the problem i would to explain is that no of my players want to play a space marine in Black Crusade, and there for may have lagging combat abilities.
I also Heard that there maybe would be Necrons as a enemy to fight against that i thought was a great idear, but with my players lagging combat abilities, and the fluff about dangerous Necrons is, i'm afraid if my players would not be able to defeat this enemy.

to make it short the thing i would like to know if anyone got any idear how the power level for none space marine players is in Black crusade ?

I hope someone can help from your Buddy happy.gif

i don`t have a clue about power levels but no probly your human pc char could kill a necron by them selfs that why you convice other ppl too fight with you and they help you kill it. or get killed while you run the heck fire a way

Run today, so you're able to fight tomorrow.

I statted up Necrons based the codex's troop types, their gear and abilities (didnt bother with named critters) for Deathwatch and an alternative "heretics" game based off Dark Heresy. I think the only real way of putting it is, "no flesh will be spared" when there is a full-on Necron incursion, they're genuinely scary fuckers. Sure, they're slow, not inordinately great at shooting or melee, but they are very tough, their technology is insanely dangerous and they just don't stop coming...

I'm sure they'll do fine against necrons, once they've gotten some gifts from their gods. I haven't read over all the classes (Well, I don't have the book yet so kind of hard) but heretics will probably do just fine in combat compared to space marines in the long run. The initial skill and gear disposition however will favor CSM in combat.

As a GM however you can always tweak it abit so they don't all end up as necron fodder if they end up being too difficult.

The Necrons in the book are fairly powerful but not unbeatable. They have a massive amount of regeneration though, so the PCs will need to hit them hard and fast to make them stay down.

That said, a high-level RT group is perfectly capable of taking out some 'crons, as are middling Heretics. Space Marines make it easier of course, but it's perfectly do-able. Out-numbering the enemy helps a lot as always. If the 'crons out-number the party, they probably want to run. Space Marines or no, a wave of 'crons is something to run from.
