I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining too much, but August has come and gone and Black Crusade is still listed as being "on the boat". Would it really kill FFG to give us an update?

It's not unreasonable to expect some sort of communication from the publisher, especially given how highly anticipated this product is. We don't need all the grisly details or handwritten apologies, but any sort of public announcement would be a heck of a lot better than this annoying silence. Even if FFG has no idea how long Black Crusade will be held back, saying, "We're sorry, but Somali pirates have hijacked the boat and we have no idea how long it will be" would at least give us the impression that they give two hoots about their customers.

Has nobody seen the amount of positions FFG have been advertising over the last few months, many of which in the community involvement, sales and management positions... methinks they are understaffed and just don't know what's going on with some of their products. Course, i'd love to be proven wrong, but all the evidence adds up to that.

At this point its safe to say that the boat was hijacked by pirates off the coast of somalia and is being held ransom, a total of 2,1 million dollars will see the boat released. Start telling your friends so you can poll all your money and help set this boat free :)

Kasatka,

Even if that's the case, I doubt it would adversely affect anyone's health to take a few minutes out and post a quick notice on the forum or the news section saying, "Sorry for the delay. Black Crusade has obviously not hit the shelves and we have no idea when it will... those pesky Somali pirates have yet to issue a ransom demand." We're not mind readers and it's a little impolite of them to expect us to be.

In any business communication is key - explanations go a long way in retaining good will while excuses or plain old silence are surefire ways to make one's business look unprofessional and incompetent.

And I'll readily admit that I'm just complaining 'cause I'm a greedy, impatient fan who wants Black Crusade so I can finally start stomping Imperial do-gooders into the dirt all official like. I can't stomp if there aren't any rules!!!! gran_risa.gif

I work for a small game store, Thor's Hammer, and the word i received is they ship on the 13th and will be available on the site the 22nd. I am very excited and hope this is how it happens. My store has been waiting for many months for this book.

While I hope this is true...I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

A thousand times echoing what Millandson just said, Amazon have one of the worst customer services i've ever come across, and working in customer service myself i am highly critical of them all.

Hullo-o!

I wasn't being sarcastic - I stand by my statement.

I repeat (& clarify):

For books (including & especially RPGs), I always go to Amazon first, they have the best prices & the best service.

Most of my collection has been ordered thru Amazon, w/out (almost) any problems. The couple I've had, they promptly try to resolve them (& usually do!) I bet they are rated highest in customer service in a recent survey for some reason.

Sorry if your experience hasn't been the same, guys!

Deathwatch's general release last year wasn't until the end of September either. In fact, looking back at Deathwatch's news announcements, the core book and Game Master's kit hit stores about Sept 17. Assuming the same timeline with this game, it looks like we'll see it in another couple weeks.

While the "Somali Pirates theory" does warm my heart, doesn't it seem like they would rather get the books here faster being evil themselves? Trying to encourage 1st world country nerds to join their cause and hijack ships, slay innocents, and do all-around very bad things? Maybe they would escort the boat to its intended destination and ward off pesky Naval forces giving it enough time to reach the target destination.

either way... I think my first in-game action to test the rules would be to tell my GM to make a "Fantasy Flight Games" HQ on a poorly defended world with woefully inadequate forces. It would break down like this *ahem*: I would take a page out of the Night Lords way of war and fire high yield nuclear warheads at the wastelands around the facility, drenching the place in an eternal night for centuries to come. i will then proceed to land my ENTIRE compliment of bloodthirsty crewmen aboard my vessel upon the hapless world to begin the enslavement and re-purposing process, actually trying to NOT slay any inside the facility. Once all of my crew and new slaves are back aboard my vessel, I will begin the orbital bombardment with macrocannon broadsides and MOAR nuclear strikes (this time actually aimed at things that matter). What's the kicker you may ask? I will keep those I feel are responsible for Black Crusade's obnoxiously delayed release and unsettling silence aboard my vessel and make them watch as my crew straps their coworkers to the macrocannon shells and atomic warheads. I then take them one by one and force them to press the big red button that fires said cannons while I shout at the top of my lungs "FIRE EVERYTHING AT THAT FACILITY!!! DEATH TO THE FALSE FFG!" Once they get the feeling they understand my pain, and believe i will end their torment swiftly like they believe they deserve, I shall simply find comical ways for them to meet their fates.

examples you may ask?
Repeating said process in the warp (firing guns while in warp travel wont hurt the ship, just those attached to the rounds)

Possession, Exorcism, Repeat.

Airlocking them so their only course is into a star, uninhabited world, or asteroid field (with a void suit ofcourse, I'm not MEAN)

Gladiatorial matches with a T-Rex that has a jet pack and a Bolter.

Play "Tag" with a Death Guard.

Play "Truth or Dare" with a Daemonette.

Play a nice rousing game of Roshambo with a World Eater marine

etc. etc.
Any other ideas for that?

Hah, those are good ideas for sure.

Do a jam session with noise marines?

My opinion, put them in a room, soundproof on the inside, with 100 clones of Buzz Killington, and watch the mental breakdowns ensue

OOH! NICE!
I would very much enjoy all of these.

Hey, look at that! It's on the truck!

HOLY CRAP! THE SOMALI PIRATES DID THE RIGHT THING! I KNEW IT! GO SOMALIA!
Looks like I'll see you all in the Vortex sooner than the Rapture.
Death to the False Emperor!

Okay where are you guys seeing that it's shipping/ on the truck?

Click the Black Crusade icon, click the little blue icon under the game master kit (says more info), click the green icon that says (available soon) and that will list all items they have and their status.

Can't wait until it's on sale, so I can order my playtester copy lengua.gif

Hey Millandson, I hope you fine gentlemen over at Dark Reign will bring out some awesome things for individual Legion rules for this.

Halla-freakin-lulla so the rumors of the dead game curse are false! Like the filthy lies spread form the imperium it comes to us as chaos must!

Well not quite; it still says 'expected august'. No word on when it's actually due.

And Gencon was in August, and it was on sale there, so that is technically accurate.

Deathwatch and Rogue Trader both said exactly the same thing - they should be out next week, with any luck!

Looking forward to it.

The glorious crusade begins Friday of next week 23 that is when it is on sale in the ffg store heard straight from a sales persons mouth

And how does he know? FFG don't tell people release dates so he has no idea when it will be released.
