I don't think they will produce any house deluxe expansion after Lions of the Rock. It would be competing against the preexisting expansions. I expect things to be a bit different. Maybe boxes that put forward houses that don't currently exist in the LCG as neutrals or dual houses, with other cards expanding them, like they do with Warhammer Invasion, or maybe they will shift the boxes to be more thematic and the chapter packs will be more general, so a kingsguard box and the next cycle is just something that is applicable to more houses or more general themes.

I don't expect them to just stop though.

I think at this point we'll just see "revised" reprintings of the existing houses, like they've already done with Kings of the Sea and Princes of the Sun. Next up, hopefully, will be Lords of Winter, as I just started playing a few weeks ago, and that one is out of stock everywhere.

What sort of revision does lord of winter need? Its already 3 of.

Then it just needs to be reprinted.

House Greyjoy for a focus on the Raider trait.

House Martell for a focus on the Sand Snakes trait?

This new Lannister box is claimed to have a focus on Clansmen correct? So that's cool.

I think each of the deluxe boxes had a dual focus of some kind.

Lords of Winter - 2 traits in House Tully and Direwolves.

Kings of the Storm - Knights trait and power challenge focus(maybe Kingsguard was another trait that benefited)

Queen of the Dragons - 2 traits in Dragons and Armies

Lions of the Rock - Clansmen trait and perhaps Deadly + Standing + Force Kneeling? Or perhaps a similar focus to intrigue challenges like Kings of the Storm is with power challenges?

Fun guesses -

After you discard a character card from your opponents hand, choose and kill a character controlled by your opponent with lower strength than that character.
After you discard an event card from your opponents hand, claim one power for your house.
After you discard a location card from your opponents hand, discard a location from play controlled by the losing opponent.
After you discard an attachment card from your opponents hand, you may take one attachment from a character your opponent controls and place it on another character of your choice. If there are no other eligible characters, discard the attachment.

After an opponent discards X cards from your hand, you may draw X cards.

What do you think the focus of Lannister's deluxe box will be?

They said the lannister box will focus on clansmen, intrigue challenges and income. (If I recall)

just announced on the front page

Looks pretty awesome

Very excited. Looks to be awesome, and...well...it IS Lanni!

Dear lord Clansmen decks are going to be brutal.

"Included with the Lions of the Rock expansion are two decklists, created with the aid of championship-level player Will Lentz, ..."

That has to be the nicest way of saying "chump" they could have come up with gui%C3%B1o.gif

What a sec, how the hell did I miss reading that in the announcement?!

*goes to read it again before the remove it*

It's on the Lions of the Rock site . The sample deck list seems to be missing, though.

But it definetely has another spoiler: "Knife in the back". Kennon probably knows more. ;-)

Hurrah for the return of Terminal Schemes! Wars Are Won With Quills needed more friends. (In its old HoTh form the card would be great, though I suspect that the stuff about Tyrells will probably be missing from the reprint. I.e. It'll be a 'win intrigue by 4, choose and kill a [non-Lannister?] character)

Also, big smile for Vat of Wildfire's reappearance.

Finally, for a bit of wild speculation fun, is the text " With half of the characters in the deck being unique, you’ll have quite a bit of stealth on the board at any given time " a hint that Valyrian Ed 'Casterly Rock' is getting a reprint?

So when are you guys changing the name of the podcast to "2 champs and a championship level player?"

Wow! Looks great!

I like how kneel isn't a focus of this box. That agenda is pretty killer.

It's very possible that there could be some kind of kneel focus here that we haven't seen or heard about yet. Generally if kneel was any kind of a focus though I would think it wouldn't be nearly as effective as any of the other focuses.

I'd like to see some interesting use of the Infamy keyword. Have some cards that get bonuses for power on them, including locations -- it doesn't have to be a reprint of Castamere, but there's gotta be something balanced they can do.

WHAT?!? They asked Kennon to make the deck lists? Has he ever even won anything with Lanni? Does he stay loyal to them at GenCons? Did he even wear a Lanni t-shirt or anything?

Here is the list of people they should have thought of: Mathlete, I am sure some Euro that plays them a lot, and (sorry) myself (having won or placed repeated times with Lanni in large tourneys). Kennon would be about #26. If he is lucky.

I now have lost respect 100% for FFG, and for Kennon for allowing this and then playing Martell at Worlds.

**(BTW, this entire post has a huge ~~~~~~~~~~ next to it, I just need to rib Kennon, it has been a week)**

Wait wait wait... Didn't you play Martell Brotherhood this year? You might as well have brought a crossbow to the bathroom with you, traitor.

With all these spoilers for the Lannister box, I'm getting excited about the Targ box that was allegedly supposed to come out a few months ago. I remember seeing this "Queen of Dragons" thingy that had some crap in it, but wasn't that just like a Targ-only chapter pack with 90% unplayable filler?

Seriously now, when's the *real* Targ box hit the shelves?

(Sorry...just felt like trolling a bit today. Must mean it's time for lunch.)

Am I the only one who liked the Targ Box?

It isn't any secret that I play only Martell or Lanni at tourneys. I never assumed the mantle of Lanni master, I just have more of a resume than a certain Mr. Kennon who played Bara I think in the other large tourney I saw him in (Days of Ice and Fire). lengua.gif

However, Rave, if you were still playing, THEN we would have a winner. I don't think I EVER saw you play anything but Lanni.

I did wear a t-shirt at least! It was on under my 2C1C shirt and was the main reason I didn't button it up.

I stand corrected. ~You move up to #18th in line now.

I am (for serious) curious, when IS the last time you played Lanni competatively (~@ a championship level)? Did you last year? Not to say I did (Martell again), although I did play it the 1st LCG year and at Regionals/Kubla.

Hmmm.... Yeah, it would probably be 2 years back that I played them at championship level events. Lanni kneel/shadows just grew to be very tiresome to play (and I don't mean play against, I mean I about fell asleep using my own deck), and in the time since, I've seen little improvement in alternate styles that are competitive. Clansmen are fun, but haven't quite gotten there. Now of course, with things like Crawn, Son of Calor, I think they'll be getting a big shot in the arm. And what can I say? After Lions of the Rock hits, you'll see me playing them again for sure. A handful of my old favorites are coming back. ;)

For anyone keeping track, I played Martell Brotherhood at GenCon and Regionals this year, Baratheon army recursion at DoIaF last year, and Martell control (admittedly using Castellan out of house!) at GenCon and Regionals last year. Prior to that, it was Lannisters all the way down, I'm pretty certain. For joust anyway.
