Never saw the movie.

Anyways...I don't believe that Lions of the Rock will be the last of the deluxe expansion.
As discussed before, Kings of the Sea and Princes of the Sun only served as introductory expansions like a mini Core Set rather than an expansion which increased the breadth of the preexisting houses.....like what Stark, Baratheon, Targaryen, and Lannister boxes managed (or will manage) to do.

So what comes next then?

expansion boxes for Greyjoy and/or Martell as they only have their starter sets? (would have made sense until the recent reprints, now seems a bit hard on the heels of the previous offering)

New starter boxes for House Tyrrell / Arryn / other (I've seen a fair amount of support for those ideas here and there)

Back to Stark as the ones who've had the longest wait since a box being released for them?

I find it unlikely that they'll do nothing - as long we keep buying i'm sure they'll keep selling, but i don't know what would make the most sense.

That title shows they are greedy animals who would do everything for power :D

Anyway were there any house Lannister Tyrels in CCG ?

I'm thinking we could see some gold tyrels as well as Jaime Kingsguard commander.

Personally, a variant multiplayer game-in-a-box a la

so they're putting in an awesome Stark card for those of us who refuse to play Lannister?

Yes, there was a whole expansion called house of thornes. All the Tyrell cards had a double house affiliation (Lannister/ Baratheon).

God - I miss htose Tyrells. Teh LCG has a big hole in the shape of a rose in it right now.

(Wasn't going to post on this thread but the Tyrells drew me in.) As long as I am here I'll go on teh record as saying I will never spedn one red cent on this collection of glamorized baby killer and traitor cards.

Must be somewhere near the vale-shaped hole.

I was wondering where they go after this as well. There can be an argument made to give Martell & Greyjoy second expansions. For the time being, perhaps a 2-deck box that hads something akin to what you find in the Core Set? Maybe the Core Set's reprints might then feature all 6 houses by fusing the two products and dumping those lame title figurines, something we don't need one of, let alone 3-copies if you want to have a playset of the modern Forever Burning.

Aside from that, I think it becomes an issue of profitability and resources for FFG, there adding a 5th LCG and have posted to hire more developers, but things have to be stretched a little thin. I could see making a new cycle of Legacy Packs, to update something we saw in the ITE Legacy Pack. We're already getting some (often modified) reprints. Take that concept a bit further and give us a 3x 60 collection of cards that's a "best of" from each of the yearly CCG blocks. If you really want to stretch it, Dive those in two, Base Set retrospective & a 2nd complement from the 2 expansions/Premium Starters.

Not a bad idea - but you'ld sort fo ahev to skip winter Blcok, wouldn't you? That sets "best of" was pretty much Doomed, was it not? Apart from the armies in the last set (those nice 7 STR beasts with teh come into play abilities) and Ygritte - I can't think of mcuh that would see play form that set taht wasn't Doomed. And I doubt we want that mechanic back.

Buut yeah: a best of I&F, VED, ITE and 5K....sign me up. I'd buy them.

You know nothing, Stag Lord.

Yes! Yes Yes **** Yes!!! Dying to see some cards from this set to keep me drooling til Christmas!

I wouldn't mind to see Doomed cards come back. That seems like a pretty cool mechanic.

It was actually pretty horrible, in my opinion.

Would you be so kind as to provide a brief explanation about what the "doomed" mechanic is?

(I assume it didn't involve using the die from "Space Hulk: Death Angel"...)

Doomed cards were inherently better than regular cards. The doomed mechanic (I believe) was that if you had 5 or more doomed cards (which where deathbound?) in your dead pile, you lost the game.

Yup, pretty much. It was p. cool to see everyone under the sun running 3x Massing At Twilight. And by "p. cool" I mean "dumb as nails"

I think the doomed mechanic wasn´t that bad at all. Just some of the cards were too ridiclious strong. The PLoy and massing at twilight were really design errors, also the defendes of the north agenda was too strong.

But the doomed mechanic is from teh general idea nothing more than a restricted list for certain cards which were "a little" more powerful than other cards. I would applaude a comeback of some of the doomed cards like e.g. Arya´s revenge, Ser Waymar Royce, the battlefields, Cersei Lannister, Cately Stark, Arrest and imprison...

Next Deluxe Expansion will cater to the Neutral House card. :-D

LOL. The expansion should have a really neutral sounding name, like "Cards".

How about "Lords of Nothing"?

"Characters, Locations, Attachments, and Events of all kinds."

Actually I think Greyjoy may be getting the next one if any... with the possibility of focusing on the "Raider" and one of the "House X" traits that is only in Greyjoy. Just fun speculation.

Would it be worth focusing on something more neutral? Could be interesting.

Why the assumption there wil be any big deluxe expansion for one of houses after Lannisters?

Don't forget FFG just got SW game so with resources streched this thin it will be good if they can provide steady supply of new chapter packs and reprinting old ones in x3 packs.
