joust worlds

Gz from Spain to Brett!

Great stuff, congratulations.

Less participants than in Melee? I thought we would see more than 100.

A lot less maester agenda decks than actually expected and really cool stuff that a bara deck showed them all ;)

To help update the frist thread darknoj is jonathan andrews and i am very sad their was no Ontario cheering for me..... ;)

Congrats to all players!!!

Ps since melee sucks I cannot imagine why you had fewer participants in joust than melee... anyway top 16 had all best players there so it was a great tourney :-)

Grats to everyone, especially to Brett Zeiler for taking the title (with Bara ... who saw that coming?) and to Jason for taking an Alliance deck into the top 16 :)

first congrats to z...couldnt b happier...secomd dobbs wa at the final table of both melee and joust and didint win overall....a total travesty...lastly i am hammered and won drunk draft

darknoj i didnt know you were in the cut to 16! i obviously didnt drive down, but ill see you in ottawa?

Congratulations to the champion. Great to see Bara there.

Congratulation to darknoj, too. That alliance deck is crazy.

Darknoj was playing Bara Maesters as well actually, not an Alliance deck.

How many participated in the annual drunk draft???

Do we have some bad info on the overall champion? Is it Corey or Dobbler? Was Corey 1st and 5th vs Dobbler's 2nd and 4th (that's the only way I can see Corey being overall champ)?

Also, found it interesting that there were more participants for melee than joust, despite the fact we have a large number of outspoken players on this board who we know didn't participate in melee but did in joust... ~take that joust snobs

How is it possible dobbler did not win overall?

Props to you Rings for winning Most Typos in One Post !

It seems the melee winner Corey was eliminated in Round of 16 for Joust so I dont see how its possible Dobbler was not overall champion

BTW Congrats to Zeiler for winning GenCon Championship!

From what was posted on this site:

Corey got 1st and 9th. Dobbler got 2nd and 4th.

It seems to me that Dobbler should be the overall champ.

Perhaps the melee rounds are weighted more heavily in the overall calculation?

I concur. Let him design another great card :)

(And no Flea Bottom jokes)

Maybe someone just posted wrong guys

Also, last year they gave overall numbers for the overall champ, so im sure that will be on FFGs website soon enough.

That was the only thing I could think of, that since melee had more participants this year (perhaps for first time ever?), it might have gotten weighted more heavily or something.

Oh, my bad !

Congrat to Jason then. That deck is still crazy. And I'm sure is real fun to play.

Jason's deck is pretty BA. There is another post by Fatmouse that explains the scoring. See that for more details.

That post can be found here .

I see the joke, but my thought on why Melee had more was due to the day of the week. With so much occurring at GenCon on Saturday I bet we lost some semi-casual/competitive people do to other events, whereas the melee was on Friday.

The only reason Rings won the drunk draft was because I king-made him in his first game and there wasn't shots for claim soak during that game (I had 3 2 claim plots and he would have been on the ground by the end gran_risa.gif ) There were probably round about 30 people at the drunk draft.

Sadly I wound up having to bail on the drunk draft, kid was apparently up screaming for several hours... of course what happens when I get home? Oh he goes right to sleep and sleeps later the next morning than he has since he was like 2 months, go figure. Ah well, there's always next year!

it was a joke but I hate melee in a competitive way... never played and will never play... thx gods european tourneys are based only in joust :-)

A player should win or lose ONLY thx to its skill and not also thx to others factors (a part the luck that is always welcome :-))

I'll save my recollections and thoughts on the tournament and my deck for my tourney report, but I figured I'd at least post the decklist now.
