Recharging Laspacks

By Zencowboy, in Dark Heresy

can some one point me to where this is covered in the source books? Cause can't find it for the life of me.

Thanks in advance.

realy you didn`t see it? oke fine

plug it into a power line fo somekind (with teck-use) wait for 6/8/12/24 hours depending on amount of power. hey presto recharged

if no power around and you realy need the shots trow packs in fire and let cook for a full day. you have halve the shots and after the first time a 25% chance of it not working anymore but at least you have something

other then that if your realy hard up of packs buy some there not that expencive

If you're looking in the sourcebooks (Black Library fluff), it's all through the Gaunt's Ghosts books by Dan Abnett, plus the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer they put out a while back, I think one or two of the Cain novels by Sandy Mitchell, maybe some others. Basically it works how redhead222 said: plug them in for a bit, or throw them in a fire (though not for a full day as far as I'm aware, I always thought it was an hour or two in the fire) if you're willing to risk the chance of malfunction/explosion.

If you're looking for specific rules out of the core books, I'm not aware of any, so recharging laspacks effectively becomes a very common house rule.

Actually, there are some. DH main rulebook, page 132, lower left hand corner. It gives rules for recharging power packs by plugging them into a power source or by throwing them in a fire.

The fluff also states that power packs can be charged in the sun, but there aren't any official rules for that. However, I'm pretty sure there's a good PDF of some fan-made lasweapon rules at Dark Reign that includes some rules for that too.

?

i did and how was your ansore better? you said the same thing!

anyway i didn`t have the rulebook on my at that time and was reciting from memory so suw me if i don`t know the precies rules out of mind becaus i never had the problem of running out of shots and have plenty of charge left after what ever fight i had.

our house rule was that after the mission any pack you had was recarged afterward (then again we had a teck priest in the party that could recharge our pack mid mission)

I stand corrected, thank you. Seems a little odd to me that they'd put it in the weapons section but not the ammo section; that's probably why I didn't notice it.

You did not. The question was "Where can I find X?" You answered the question "How does X work?" While that may be what's in the book (and for the record, the book doesn't list times, just saying it's up to the GM based on the power output of the source), what if he's a player that needs a page reference to show his GM, or a GM that needs a page to point a rules-lawyering player toward? What if he's a GM that wants a fluff perspective with the mind toward crafting houserules? In any of those cases, which are perfectly logical for the question asked, you've given no help at all. While I admit I didn't give correct information (my apologies, OP), I did attempt to actually address what was asked rather than answering something that wasn't.

if you have a TechPriest with the Luminen Charge talent, they can recharge Laspacks. just another option.

In photos from the Vietnam War, you frequently see G.I.s with elastic bands around their helmets used to hold various odds and ends- including M16 clips. I took that as the insperation for a house rule: a charge pack with the photocell facing up (such as being strapped to a helmet) will recharge in about 8 hours in bright daylight (as opposed to 2-3 hours from a standard charger or 1d10 hours in a campfire- more house rules....)
