Can a card like Leyton Hightower or Asha Greyjoy that reads cannot be saved be duped? These are both good cards but i often find myself limiting myself to one or at the most 2 copies since if I happen to draw that card twice it is essentially useless...

Well, you can put a duplicate on them, you just cannot use it to save them. So yeah, if you draw into your second copy, it's usefulness is severely reduced - if the character gets discarded you could play your second copy, and that's about it.
