Is the only way for cylons to get on the board is a crisis card? There are only 10 cylon attack cards in the crisis deck (out of 70). If shuffling happened to put all the attack cards near the bottom, then could the humans potentially play an entire game without any cylon attacks?
Cylon attacks
Well, you start the game under attack....
Also, there is a few normal crisis cards that can make Cylon ships appear if you fail them. There might also be a supercrisis that sets some up iirc.
Honestly you would have to shuffle HORRIBLY to not get any though. Right now the odds should be about 1 every 7 crisis cards. Which in a four to five player game is not even two full rounds of turns on average, and if there is 6 players that's almost one every round on average.
I guess anything's possible though...
There is one Supercrisis that is a Cylon attack, one supercrisis that puts Centurions on the board, and close to 9 Cylon Attack Crises in the crisis deck (of a deck around 40 cards, I think). There is one location that puts a basestar on the table, and at least a couple of crises that put basestars in case of failure or by decision.
Oh yeah I forgot about the destination deck card. Good call.
Note if you don't shuffle the deck at all when you get the game this will happen, as all the cylon attack cards are on the bottom of the deck.

It'll probably never, ever come up in a favourable way for the Cylons. Even if the Cylon is an Admiral, running into this would arouse the ire of the human players. As a human, it would arouse the ire of the other human players. I suppose you could reason that it's actually not that bad, and to simply nuke the resultant Basestar, or fire with galactica's weapons control. I've found myself wanting to go there as a human, but I'd never do it if the Galactica was damaged in any major way.
I dunno, it is a distance 3. Never underestimate the power of a 3. The less jumps the humans have to make the easier it will be for them to win. I could see taking this, especially if my other choice is like a distance 1, or a crappy 2. Just depends I guess.
Doesn't it also only cost 1 fuel? That's pretty hot.
I've selected the cylon ambush destination while admiral (and human). It put us at exactly 8 distance and we where runing dangerlously low on fuel so it seemed a good choise. And we humnas ended up wining the game.
Yeah, our admiral chose that one once (as a human). 3 distance for 1 fuel is really good, and the cylon ships are not that much of a threat, unless another fleet shows up.
