I watched my 2 sons demo the x-wing game at gen con and the prototype models for the x-wings anf tie's weren't bad. the runs were easy the understand. I re-minded me of wings at war demo a few years ago.

Best info we've seen yet and strongly confirms X-Wing to be a variant on the WoW mechanics. Has there ever been a Star Wars game that was completely original? Oh yeah SSB, better to stick to vetted systems.

I played a couple of demos while at Gen Con, as well. I would like to see the models on Hexagonal or octagonal bases. The game plays without the use of a map, unlike the aforementioned Starship Battles. This could give us more movement options, such as "sliding" -- using the shorter movement templates (1 or 2).

With wave 5 on the horizon, It's funny that, this is the oldest post in this forum (other then the locked rules) and still today people are coming here talking about getting into this game.
