Ritual

Dragon Priestess' character card : After rolling the die when praying, you may use all, none, or some of your Followers to perform a ritual . Each Follower used in the ritual adds 1 to your score.

Article They will sing our legends : When she encounters a Dragon, she can sacrifice her followers instead of engaging it in combat. The sacrifice allows her to pray for the dragon’s favor, and she may sacrifice additional followers for greater chances at the dragon’s blessings.

Question: Does that mean the Dragon Priestess discards Followers not only for praying instead of attacking a dragon but also for performing a ritual? Character card does not say anything about discarding. But text of the article does.

No, she can discard a Follower to sac to a Dragon to initiate praying, but can also toss a Spell or an Object. Flavor text in my mind all the extra sacrificing stuff. She gets a bonus for each Follower she wishes to use, doesn't need to discard them to gain that bonus.

The article is confusing. Now it isn't clear what the verb use on the card means.

The text on the card is actually quite clear; you know, this reminds me of my last game with some newbies, where one of them thought the text on the warlock quest cards below the task was rule text....

Back on topic.

"Use" here is clearly not the same as "sacrifice", I think you can agree with that. Just ignore the text from the article and stick to the actual rules on the card.

If you take a look at the Magus, for ex., one of his abilities uses the word "use", too, but I think you would also agree that he doesn't sacrifice them as part of the ability.

Rimmer is referring to the topic which states, that she can also sacrifice more followers to boost her praying bonus, which is wrong, I aked about that before in the topic discussion.

Well, of course, thats what I mean - you were mixing her abilities - her "ritual" and "offer a sacrifice" are two different things, like you said.

It just sounded like Rimmer was still unsure about it.

You are convincing. Thank you. Believing the text on the card sounds reasonable ;)
