Loewe

The Loewe walker in the Revised Core Set Rulebook is cool. Is it a dual laser carrying Luther?

It seems to have the extended cockpit of the Jagdluther, and those things do remind me of huge lasers.

As an allied player, I shudder at the idea....

To illustrate this topic:

Formerly known as the Panzer Kamplaufer Wotan. The Loewe mounts twin heavy laser cannon and is based off a Luther Chasis (Armored Compartment looks same as Jagdluther). It is also the base for the Japanese Ryu robot. The Japanese one is the same with large shields similar to schurzen on the weapons. This is the 1/35th scale version.

I did see this as a Wotan in the previous rulebooks. It is really cool. It goes without saying this would be great to have. I have never seen this on the Parente site. What else is out there you don't see on on it?

is the loewe a heavy walker or a medium?

Looks like a heavy to me.

How come most of the cool walkers seem to be Axis in origin? Besides the Honey and Wildfire, all the other Allies walkers pale in comparison to their Axis counterparts. The Axis walkers simply exude more oomph! factor. happy.gif Do you all feel the same way or is it just me?

Well, he does have the reinforced cockpit of the heavier walkers...

As for the superiority of axis walkers, it is shown in the fluff (specially sourcebook and modelling book) that it was the axis who develpoed the alien inspired technology, so they are in advantage of teh allies in that sense.

I remember it states somewhere that the MIcky was produced in a hurry, that is why it uses existing to date materials (a sherman tank turret)

Just like in the real world where the axis vehicle had the better looks (A panther versus a sherman? No contest). lengua.gif

Its true the Axis have cooler looking units, walkersa nd troops. But I think the stat war goes to the Allies.

It seems that the Allies are going to be more Retro-Sci-Fi (Buck Rogers and his Rocket Ranger Marines in exo-SpaaaaaaaaaaCe Armor with Laser Gloves) while the Axis will be more steam PULP (monkeys, zombies and lasers). As long as the Japanese dont show p with Colonel Fu Man Chu we should be happy.

It also seems to be, that since they are doing unit releases in stages, and not just army books with everything you can have in one place at one time, that we will see the ARMS RACE play out on our wallets. Taht by this time next year if you are fielding rangers or grenadiers of the normal type its because you are either new to the game, poor or havent been following the game very well. Or, like me, just like the little guy!
