First time, first scenario yesterday...but wait..?

By Konoster, in Mansions of Madness

I played as the keeper, and subsequently managed the event cards. I noticed though that the info on the later cards felt incongruent to what was going on at the time.

Example: the players succeded in finding clue two - ............................!SPOILER FOLLOWS!...................... about Lynchs's wife and her burial. Then soon the event card stating that a living corpse rises from the basement was flipped over. Problem though, is that why should I read about something that happens where no one is situated at the moment? That feels like a spoiler in the game itself?! First they learn that wife is dead and buried. Then while they are figuring out where, an event takes place that reveals it for everybody - while also no one were even in the proximity of the basement. Did I do something wrong?

Grateful for input!

No, it sounds like you were correct; such are limitations of making it a competitive board game instead of actually an RPG. In this case, the rising body can give a more definite clue as to the location of the next part of the puzzle if the Investigators were a little undecided or dragging their heels.
