Non-native English speaker, so how to read Eowyn's action?

"This effect may be triggered by each player once each round": does this mean that you can do this action once and one of the players pays the cost or every player may pay the cost once so cumulating the willpower?

This may have been answerd but searching "Eowyn" gives lots of hits on the forum :-)

Each player may discard 1 card to give Eowyn +1 willpower. If you are playing solo, Eowyn can gain only +1 willpower per round. If you have 2 players, each of you may discard 1 card (2 cards total) and Eowyn gains +2 willpower. If you have 3 players, each may discard 1 card (3 cards total) and Eowyn gains 3 willpower. And so on.
