Help needed. PC programm that you can run AGOT tournament.

By GioKarab, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hello all.

As you know the AGOT point system for a toyrney is a little different than other card games. The winner gains 5 points, the partial winner gets 3, the draw gets 1 and the loser 0 points.

The thing is i dont know a program that i could run a tournament with this point system. The Wizards reporter can't do it and i m having a hard time finding one that can.

Any help would be most welcome.

What's wrong with good old pen and paper? Or, if there's enough people to make it worth your while, you could create a spreadsheet with Excel/OpenOffice/whatever.

Nothing is wrong with good old pen and paper but we want to give our AGOT players the feeling of importance given from other card games like Magic and to have a system that breaks ties automatically. To calculate opponent's scores if the two players that tie, have tied to their match as well, is a little time consuming.

Anywayz the excel seems a good idea yeah but i would really like to find a program. Thanx :)

Swiss Perfect.

It's originally designed for chess, so make sure to tell it that color doesn't matter in pairings (otherwise, it is may pair opponents twice, once white-black and the other black-white). But other than that, it uses exactly the same Swiss pairing and tie-breakers that the AGoT Tourney Rules describes.

This is for Joust, obviously. Haven't found anything particularly good for Melee, but since all pairings are random in Melee, the XLS spreadsheet idea for scores seems appropriate.
