My whole German force is quasi-DAK, here are some pics.

This photo isn't that great. The armour and helmets are a tan with brown wash, the BDU's are khaki...

I'll post better pics of the troops later, but the heads I should mention, are all from Bolt Action Miniatures Plastic Germans line.

I was thinking about using the Bolt Action heads too, but they looked too big to me. Now I´m using the Heads from the Westwind SHS-System.

The colour is still a little washed out in the pic, but the distinction between the khaki uniforms and the tan armour is much great and pleasing in person. Only thing I forgot was to paint in faint blue glow on the Lasers, that'll be next.

I love Desert themed armies and i´m painting mine in that style (both allies and axis). orblem is my slow going...only finished one soldier!

Anyway, what base colour did you use for these? I´m using citadel desert yellow for axis, and iyanden darksun foundation for allies...

These guys are painted over the grey base:

blouses/pants/cloth caps: khaki

Armour/helmets: Tan

Guns: German Grey (nearly black)

Boots:dark brown

Gloves: Light brown (english uniform or snakebite leather)

Then everything is given a very diluted black wash (so as not to darken the colours too much), except for the faces and armour, which are washed with light brown.
