Boons with regard to damage

By Zorren, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hi,

I was wondering if I rolled a dice pool to hit in combat and generated 3 boons this would obviously trigger the weapons crit ability if the weapon had a Cr of 3 or less. What if the action card also had an effect line triggered by 2 boons? Do I get both results, or do i have to pick one, meaning to get both to trigger I would have had to roll a total of 5 boons?

Any help appreciated (I really suck at finding the answers in the rule book)...

You "spend" the boons. So for a CR3 weapon with a line like "[boon][boon]: +2 damage." you would need 3 boons for the crit and 2 boons for the damage, or a total of 5 boons for both.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Banes, Chaos Stars & Sigmar's Comets are spent in the same way for future reference Zorren. The rulebook in the Core Set is a tad wonky when it comes to finding... anything . It's like the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland decided to make a roleplaying game sometimes. The Player's Guide is a decent upgrade on that front (we have two floating around the table when we play) but you still end up having to sacrifice part of your soul to the dark gods to understand it all.

oh hell yeah.

i know there is a rule in there somewhere about the number of misfortune dice for darkened conditions, the racial bonuses show that, but i cannot find the specific rule. i've looked several times.

There is no specific rule in the Rulebook regarding darkness, thus you won't find it gui%C3%B1o.gif

really?!!! wow.

The books give suggestions for GM for awarding fortune/misfortune dice for environment and conditions, but there is no actual definitive list. In general, is dim lighting, [bB] is moonlight, and [bBB] is complete darkness (or perhaps <P>). This can be extrapolated from the dwarves and elves racial ability of negating [bB] worth of darkness.

Hi everyone!

Concernig misfortune dice when in darkness - you can get quite decent suggestions on how many misfortune dice one should assign depending on conditions in The Gathering Storm - it's in one of the boxes in the Undead scenario.

so it is. i knew i had read it somewhere, certainly didn't expect it in the TGS. thanks, i thought i had an insanity card slotted.
