Weapon Upgrade Qualities? and Upgrades?

By gabriel666, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

So because some weapon upgrades are themselves a weapon example being the aux GL or melee attachment is it possible to buy them as a higher or lower quality? perhaps say buying a best quality melee attachment and adding the bonuses or a aux GL and giving it the reliable or never jamming quality? and when buying an upgrade is it possible to further upgrade the attachment itself? adding mono edge to a melee attachment? so in all is it possible to have a mono best quality melee attachment? is there a limit to the number of attachment that can be added to a weapon?

In all to answer my one burning question. Can i have a Spectre combi-Nomad with a GL attachment that also has a exterminator and mono best quality melee attachment giving me a jack of all trades weapon? sniper, assault rifle, shotgun, grenade launcher, flamer, spear? babeo.gif

You can have attachments with a different quality than the weapon itself. But remember that these different quality levels dont interact.

So no buying a shoody, old used Rifle and adding a best quality mono knife to magically make the Rifle itself also best quality when shooting.

alright so i can add a higher quality upgrade to a different weapon and is there a limit to the number of upgrades i can apply to a weapon? could i stack combi a weapon? like a autogun combi vanehiem combi meltagun

You can "upgrade" your weapon as long as it fits physically and the additions are not mutually exclusive. Physically you have modifications to the weapon itself (quality, MIU-Interface, Targetter) that take no space, attachments for the upside (usually sights) and attachments for the underside (usually Kombi-weapon, melee attachments).

*could i stack combi a weapon? like a autogun combi vanehiem combi meltagun*

No, Kombi doesnt mean 2 weapons in 1. You have the main weapon, and then add a 1-shot second weapon to its underside.

P.S.

Look up the Talent Quickdraw. No need to ducttape 3 weapons into one (and risk getting denounced for comitting Tech Heresy by the next Mechanicus Priest you meet). Just pull out the one you need.

yes i understand quickdraw just would like to have all of my needs fitted onto one convenient package. and you do have a good point. buti n the radicals handbook i believe it mentioned not a one shot variant but rather a half clip. could someone please cite me the pages for both combi- variants? one in the radical and the other i can not find.

and yes i mean though could i attach another weapon to the underside of the combi. so add a gun beneath the attached gun?

what i may be looking for is somethign like this: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRdxiPlFhtsucx0usSxBvS

The rules say no, logic screems no but ask your GM
