I am somewhat new to DW, and I was asked to do a new quick game with players who don't know the history and the dynamics of 40k and past history. I want to make my game a quick one night (3 to 4 hours) event. But what I don't want is spending too much time on the behind knowledge. So my question is: is there any resources online where i can send player to do some pre game reading? I did type up a quick guide to combat and was going to go through a few combat testing rounds with them.
Seeking advice on players who have NO knowledge of 40k history.
You could send them to www.lexicanum.com and have them read specifics you would like them to. It's a great place to learn the fundamentals if you have the time and whatnot.

I agree, it's a very helpful resource.
I also like lexicanum.com, also the warhammer 40K wiki. If you're just running a short scenario or one-shot, I would recommend just sticking with the chapters in the book on the Imperium and thr Jericho Reach. After that, I wouldnt worry about cannon too much. The whole universe is pretty convoluted and can be intimidating at first for people who don't know already. The most important thing is that everybody has fun and unless you plan on making it a regular game, its probably not worth more than a couple hours worth of studying to get in charachter. Best of luck!
I am not going to lie but it would be nice to have a players guide for DeathWatch.
Print out and give them Imperial Primer
Its originally for Dark Heresy but its not generic 40K Imperial instead of Dark Heresy specific. It has worked fine for me.
I am starting to run games in this setting. This was a helpful post series.
