Revised Edition Wishes

By Peacekeeper_b, in Dust Tactics

What do you hope is in the revised edition rule book? Updated rules? Clarifications? Eratta? New rules? New Fluff? More Fluff?

I think it would be cool if the rulebook itself had stats for 3 basic squads, 2 walkers and 1 hero for each major faction (meaning all the base squads, walkers, heroes from the old core set, plus maybe for the French, Russian, British, Italian and so forth) but that is probably too much to ask for.

I don't quite understand what the point of the book having squad stats is.

All I want from the revised rulebook is clearer explanations of all the rules. Artillery and cover, LOS between inside and outside of buildings, reactive fire and C weapons, wiederleben serum, etc. I don't really want to see any new rules. New rules should only come when strictly necessary, not every single new release should bring forth a new one.

I'd also like more fluff for the allies, since SeeLowe focused strictly on the axis.

I like more rules. Regular troops. Regular vehicles. Comapigh rules. Customization rules. And so forth.

Also, having squad stats in the book would allow you to preview the units decide what you want to buy first, or even kit your own. And it would be a fast way to release some stats for otehr factions, such as the russians.

Better examples would be nice. Wouldnt mind just more fluff in general. Axis and Allies, Aliens and Earth and so forth. What i dont want is yet another book of a awkward shape and size that I have to refer to get all the rules.

There will never be "normal" card ffg will sell. Customization will also never happen. Everything in this game come as is. You don't need them in the book other than the heroes which come in the box with the rulebooks go to Dust-Models.com and click on premium dust tactics click on a painted unit and the preview of a card is there. Plus if they wouldnt put the cards in the rulebook for the revised edition. They wouldn't make any money off of the revised cards.

Fluff and stuff is starting to pick up in these rulebooks look at seelowe. I would like to see a bunch of painting examples but just the ones on the cards.

Redo of rules - we need someone with control over rules department that will do proper examples and clear out lexicon.

Big Easy to read LOS diagram.

Painting Guide and terrain guide to accent Miniature/Hobby focus.

FLUFF ,FLUFF & FLUFF (i would buy new edition Parente Sourcebook with painting schemes, unit names and history , intresting ppl, compaigns etc no game rules allowed. I bought old one)

I like more rules. 3d, regular troops (or just Kar 98 , gewehr 43 stats :>) ,regular vehicles (jeeps ,trucks and armored transporters it does not have to be unit card i am fine with moving cover rule). campaign rules (sucess from one scenario moves to another , we have something like this with blowing up wall in core but we need more!!.

:P regular troops and vehicles for free should move focus parente studio into cool weird war staff (no more Land Crafts etc).

Maybe because some of us dont want to constantly go to the internet to look at cards. A reference book is fine. It works for all the other miniature games out there. And versions of the cards int eh book does not do away with the need for cards in the game, as you play the cards as you use the squad.

But I digress. I am an old gamer who is used to his codices, army books and army lists and would rather have that tradition continue out of a sense of nostalgia and habit. We all play the game differently, we all have different wishes and it shouldnt be any of our jobs to tell someone their wishlist is wrong, right or insane (well mayeb insane).

And why would customization never happen? Its only another option for revenue. Oh you want the officer of your command squad to have a laser gun? Well that individual fig costs $8 and raises the value of the command squad by 5 AP? Oh you want to add panzerfausts to your laser grenadiers? Two raises your AP by 5, 3 raises it by 10. And so forth. Now you have to buy a weapons pack or individual figure for $8-$10 to upgrade that unit, and buy the refernce card for the update. Bam! FFG makes money.
