A Demons eye quality...

By Grid Reaper1, in Dark Heresy

Hi,

I tried to search the forums for the following question, but I wasn't able to find anything useful. So if you know a topic which fits, I would be glad for the link.

Anyways my question is, if its mentioned in the rulebook etc., how and what do demons see? I mean, do they see our real world, when they have entered, like we do? Do they have some kind of "demon vision" just showing mortal souls? Is it some kind of mixed vision? From the rules they almost all have the Dark Sight ability, but as being from the nightmarish realm of the warp, it is no surprise that they can see in the dark.

Thanks and with kind regards!

when manifested in realspace, I guess they see the same as we do, but maybe in other hues or with greater clarity.

I would imagine that they have superior vision to our own, and would probably see everything with intense clarity. Same would probably go for their other senses as well.

They see things via their trace in the Warp, hence why they have the Dark Sight trait - the dark doesn't stop you being able to see a soul.

It's also why they can't see Nulls - they have no reflection in the Warp at all.

Where does it say that they can't see nulls? Nulls can't be located with psyniscience, sense presence or similar abilities and in their null zone daemons take double damage from instability. But they should still be visible.

Daemons can see untouchables, at least in the books. in Eisenhorn Cherubael and the other one whose name I can't recall at the moment were both able to see Alizabeth and Elena when the met them but were not able to tell that they were Blanks untill they got within the psychic deadzone.

and about the vision of a daemon a ggod deal would likely lie in which kind of daemon we are talking about.

I woud immagine that a Slaaneshi daemon have not only superior vision to mortals but to other daemons as well, seein everything with unnaturaly clarity and vibrant brightness.

Khorne daemons would possibly see everything with a red sheen or see red everywhere, perhaps they will see normall but can actually the the blood flowing through someones veins a bit like an x-ray just with the blood visible.

Tzeentch daemons would likely see things... wierd, perhaps even seeing the possibilities and times for something or someone.

I have no clue have a nurgle daemon sees the world... and I am not sure I want to know.

It’s completely unrelated to Warhammer and its rulebooks but your question immediately called to my mind the memories of «The Eyes of the Overworld» by Jack Vance: in the first tale/chapter there’s a village whose inhabitants wear the lenses a fleeing demon left on earth. These purple lenses distort reality and, by seeing through them, show everything much more beautiful than it is.
The protagonist and his actions are questionable, yet maybe you can find inspiration there.
