Tannhauser

By Peacekeeper_b, in Dust Tactics

There are some base line similarities between Dust and Tannhauser. Other then the obvious issues of timelines and events, could they be seen together?

I mean, have WWI end, but have the characters from Tannhauser show up in the Dust timeline.

Basically Im looking for ways to use Tannhauser models for Dust Models.

Rule number 1. You bought them, use them any way you want to. There is no wrong or right way to play with your toys. And please dont take offense at the word toys, my wife calls them my little dollies . . . and I really cant disagree I do paint them and take care of them and put pretty little ribbons in their hair. Wow what a tangent , anyway create your own cards and use the minis from other games and use them in friendly games . Honestly no one has the right to tell you you cant do that.

Seconded on Rule #1.

Usually w/ games like this it ultimately comes down to arguments of tournament-legal vs. House rules. If you're playing for compatibility w/ other groups, go w/ the former. If it's for fun, the field is yours to the extent that other players comply.

I think the zombie/alien aspect of the game would fit w/ Tannhauser somewhat in terms of macabre. I guess if you were running a storyline, you could link the games. Calls for a bit of artistic license.

Pick the timeline and story you like best and just move the characters you want to that story.

Well the same silly Axis things that come out... zombies... giant apes... I think soon in Dust we are going to see sexy babes, minotaurs and demons...

I am a little disappointed by the last expansion of Dust. I really do not like the stereotypical fair that is tannhauser, and to see some of them popping out in Operation Seelow is very bad. Hope it is only a single episode.

I do not understand anything you just said.

I would love to see an alternate Tannhauser as Dust Skirmish. The universe is similar enough, you could use existing Dust mini's so all they would have to do is publish maps, cards, and tokens. They already have a precedent of taking a license and adapting it to an existing game, (Battle of Westeros), so it wouldn't be impossible, just improbable. Still would be cool to see.

I would buy some Tanhauser minis to add some personality to my units but they are expensive.

If you looking for Space Hulk style game for Dust T minis i recommend INCURSION by grindhousegames.com. You buy rules separate and You will be able to use zombies, apes and heavy Allied armour suits. And Sigrid will love Gretel an Ilsa von X as bodyguards. Fluff wise Doctor Hugo von X its just alias of Professor Stefan Priapinski. The Lucky Seventh is in ASOCOME.

For TT skirmish i tested and recommend AE-ww2 by darkson design. Its already 1/48 and have rules for most of Dust Tech (you can easly add more thanks to real calibre of dust weapons).
