High House in the Mist

By LordZon, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Two times I have gone for the Great Seal and two times it has cost me the game due to rifts getting out of control.

Is there ever a reason to go up there? Does MH change anything with regards to this?

I've never gone for it myself, I would think that due to the time it takes you would not want the person on Rift duty to go for it. I think though an unbreakable seal would be nice against Atlach-Nacha.

Yeah, as Veet said. I used it in a game against Atlach. It was worth the fatigue, indeed. I tried a second time, in a nightmarish game against Eihort (AH and KH boards only in play, plus Black Goat and Lurker Mythos... every second turn I had a seal bursting), but fortunately I was able to win before getting the Seal

I think there's a couple random cards that send you to the High House.

I really need MH. Sounds like they did a great job.

Yeah, a Mythos card from Kingsport ("Traveller lost in the fog!") and maybe an Encounter in some of the M.U. locations. At least, this is what comes to my mind now.

Heh... I *never* go for the High House ;'D I'll eventually release a herald that'll strongly encourage getting someone up there though (or else). It's not a very useful location... Way too difficult to get up there, not time efficient at all. Cool idea, but bad implementation. If the Great Seal also counted as an autoseal (without clues) then it would have been worth it, but no, it does not. Alas. Might be a decent house rule though.
