Sorting pieces from original game + expansions

By yosemite, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi, All! Without going into detail, I am parting with my Descent collection. That includes the original game,WoD, AoD, and RtL. I'll be taking these to my area FLGS to part with them for store credit. Is there ANY way to tell what pieces go with which set? I have most of the counters and all of the cards figured out and just printed some pics from BGG of the hero figs from each set. What about the actual tiles? Any suggestions as to how to determine which of these came with each set? I don't want to shortchange that future owners!!!

Help will be much appreciated! THANKS!

Well, this might be kind of tedious, but here's one possibility...

There's a quest editor you can download here: http://www.prosperity-station.com/Descent/

If you create a new quest, go to the map editor portion, and look under "tiles," it will show you all the various shapes with a number by each one indicating how many there are (the number decrements each time you use one, to help you make sure you don't use too many). And under the general quest properties ("Events" tab), you can specify whether the quest uses just the base game or also WoD, and it will update the piece counts--though I don't think it updates them until you save and reload.

It does NOT have AoD or RtL. But as long as you don't have ToI, then I believe the RtL pieces can be differentiated by the outdoor terrain, and AoD will be all that's left.

Also note that some pieces have the same shape and size but different ground patterns--I don't believe the editor distinguishes between them. I think JitD comes with an even split between the different styles. But, worst-case scenario, the recipient will have a set that looks slightly different, but which will still be totally functional.

If there are any counters you haven't sorted out, try checking the component lists in the rulebooks.

WOW!!! THIS is what I've been looking for!!! Thanks for pointing it out! MUCH appreciated!

That's the list that made me realize that Descent with all expansions has 2014 parts happy.gif (a few more if you count additional sets of dice).

Scary.
