Newbie wants advice

By DWROSE, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hi guys read many of these threads and its helped me a lot but i still have a few questions.

1 I would like to know what is the card The Hound good for he just seems to hinder my draw deck in dominance ?

2 What extra cards should i buy to get 4 even houses for novices to play i only have the core set at the minute ?

3 Does Tywin Lannister keep his Gold on him in the taxation phase ?

4 If a card reads no attachments does that mean it includes negative ones like posoined wine

Also guys what does it mean by the word BOON attachment on im writ you small?

I'm relatively knew but I think I know the answers to some of these.

1.I believe the hound is good because he is relatively cheap and can't be killed unless you want him to be. So if you have multiples you can play another one as he is not in the dead pile. (I may be wrong).

2. no idea as I'm new.

3. Yes he does, it also doesn't count towards dominance.

4. No attachments allowed of any kind good or bad.

It simply signifies what trait the card has as an attachment. Traits are what you usually find on cards just under the card art, written in bold italics ( Lord , Ally , Weapon , etc.). There's currently no card effects in the LCG that interact with the Boon trait, only a couple of characters who can only take Boon attachments.

Thanks

Are you suggesting if you have duplicates of characters that are in your dead pile you can no longer play those cards i.e

if Robert Baratheon is in the Dead pile and you draw the duplicate can that be played or do you have to discard it?

Correct, if a unique Charcter is in your dead pile, no other copies of him can be played by you while he is in the dead pile.

Have a look at the rules for unique cards in the core set rulebook. You can only have one copy of a unique card in play, and only if there's no copy of it in your dead pile. If you draw into a copy of a unique card that is already in your dead pile, you cannot play it and it simply stays in your hand. If you draw a copy of a unique card that you have currently in play, you can attach the copy in your hand as a duplicate to the card in play, allowing you to save your unique card from leaving play. Details are in the rule book.
