Delayed and Students Protest Mythos

By Musha Shukou, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

When Students Protest Museum Exhibit mythos is in play and you fail the fight check, you are delayed. When you stand back up after being delayed, does that count as movement? In other words, when I stand back up after being delayed, do I need to make another fight check to see if I'm delayed again? Or do I actually have to move? Or does "any investigator who ends his movement in the streets" mean any investigator who ends his movement PHASE in the streets must pass a fight check?

If I understand correctly, standing up after being delayed *is* your entire movement. In that case, you would have to make the fight check each successive turn you're stuck in the streets until you get out of it.

Students Protest Museum Exhibit is an Environment (Urban) card so thematically I would say the students are still protesting as long as the Mythos card hasn't been discarded. Therefore you would have to check each turn to see if you are delayed or not.

Note: Having to resort to thematic logic since the rules are not clear. Actually, thematically it seems wrong that you only need to perform the check if you end your movement in the streets.

Yeah, I think this situation is rather similar to the "failed combat / evade check against a Child of the Goat". The monster is still there in the coming movement phase (as the environment is still active) thus you have to face this again. No movement, but roll to check whether the students delay you again or not

Good call likening it to the Child of the Goat. Now I am able to understand it the way you are all explaining it.

Thank you. I'm glad it helped

I would also like to say "good call" because I didn't even think about the similar situation with Child of the Goat. Especially relevant to me since I'm in the middle of a game using the BGotW expansion (for the first time). Solo, 4 investigators, maybe just as well I hadn't failed a Combat check against them yet.

Yup, generally they're pretty easy to harvest, indeed. But can be annoying if for some reasons you have cursed characters or odd situation where you have only a few dice to roll
