Timing of Limited response events and blanking keywords

By bbleers, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hey guys. A few quick questions

1) Concerning a card such as Point of the Blade that reads "Limited Response: After you reveal a Military Battle Plot card, kneel a character with a military icon to kneel all characters with a power icon" do I need to play this card right before I reveal a military battle plot to trigger its effect? I have a few military battle plot cards in my Stark direwolf deck so this card could be great for me. Just wanna make sure I get the timing right...

2) Are keywords blanked by a card that blanks its text box? I was under the impression that keywords, traits and icons were excluded.

Thanks

1. After you reveal and fully resolve that plot and all other plots that are waiting to be resolved, then you get a chance to play Response effects to any of the plots revealed (provided, of course, that you meet the requirements to play the Response effect)

2. Yes. Only icons and crests are excluded. Nowhere in the rules does it state that traits or keywords are excluded.

after whatever you are Responding to has happened. As for the "when after?" question, it does need to be right away. You cannot, for example, win a MIL challenge, then do your INT challenge, then play a "Response: after a character dies for claim in a MIL challenge..." effect. Once you move on to a new action, the opportunity to Respond to the old one is lost.

As for Point of the Blade, make sure you catch the part that "kneel all characters with a power icon" does not limit itself to opponent's characters. Your characters with power icons are going to kneel, too. A lot of Stark characters have both a MIL and a POW icon. The even might end up really hurting you.

Thanks guys. I caught that Ktom. While many Stark characters in my direwolf deck have both I have plenty with just military like my wolves, Qhorin Halfhand and Rorge. I'd be using siege of Winterfell as my agenda and many houses don't have a lot of characters with only military icons. I was counting on using this to my advantage with say, Siege of Riverrun (Claim 2 Military Battle plot) and Winter is coming to wipe out opponents characters
