Road to Legend - Staff of the Wild

By leoJ2, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

In the Errata Section it says that if draw the Lost card you return to the interim location they just passed through, however if you have the staff and you travel one extra path, why would you have an encounter if every other mark on the trails are dungeons? If you chose not to encounter the dungeon using the staff of the wild do you have to have the interim encounter? If you have laready explored the dungeon and are traveling through that area again, are you required to take the interim encounter?

You only ever roll for an "interim" encounter, when travelling on a trail, normally one trail per move action is allowed.

A dungeon is not located on a trail but rather on points connceting trails. A Dungeon can be explored or not, that´s a simple decision for the hero party, no roll is involved.

Whether a dungeon is explored or not has absolutely no influence on the die roll for the "interim" encounter.

When they have the Staff of the Wild, they may travel two trails per move action and choose for which trail (first or second) they want to roll.

The FAQ answer pertains to the situation in which they chose to roll for the second trail they moved, rolled up an encounter and the OL drew the "Lost" card. It indicates that they have to "go back" only the second trail, not the first one travelled in that week.
