Gualdo's card has arrived!

but they don't need a champ card... they have already all they need ;-)

Gualdo, congratulations on such a well-made card with great art!

As much as I'd like Hidden Chambers to apply with her, I understand the reasoning for why it doesn't. That said, i think more Stark Shadows/Winter support is great.

Quite sure. I asked this very thing on the rules board a while back, and that was ktom's answer . I'll admit that I harbored some lingering doubts still, so I sent the question to Nate:

Rule Question:
Does Hidden Chambers (City of Secrets) reduce the cost to bring Jaqen H'Ghar (Forging the Chain) or Ser Mandon Moore (The Battle of Blackwater Bay) out of Shadows when using their character ability?

and got the following reply:

No, he these cards reduce the cost of the game mechanism of bringing a card out of Shadows, not the cost of card effects that bring cards out of Shadows.

Somewhat questionable grammar there, if you ask me, but a clear-cut answer anyhow.

The Hidden Chambers ability should be preceded by "Response:" or "At the beginning of any phase when it's your turn to bring a card out of the shadows..." something along those lines. I know I know, it's not a phase. It still should be more clear as to when it can apply. If the actual mechanic is going to be distinguishable from a card effect, the terminology just shouldn't be the same.

Anyways, I really love the new card and it's effects. It's great to see Stark getting some Shadows love!

Very solid card without being broken. I like the fact that it is designed to work in synergy with the deck rather than just being a stand alone auto include.

Very nicely costed, stealth is good, can return itself to shadows theoretically every turn, works very well against some of the powerful themes like Brotherhood and Maesters.

I think this card is the silver bullet needed for Maesters and the like. Whereas many other cards are a one shot event or very specific card, this is useful outside of that narrow application, and is even repeatable. It nicely strips all those chains off if they don't have Apprentice Collar on.

How I'll love to blank Hodor an make him attack on a claim 2!!! People will stop to laugh at him and they will begin to FEAR the HODOR POWER!!!

Quick rules question (since I am horrible at them):

Can she react to herself going out of play? I.e. is she close to unkillable since she goes into shadows while being moribund?

When she leaves play, she enters a moribund state which her ability does not replace, i.e. she will always go to the out-of-play area she was first headed as she cannot be removed from play a second time.

Nope.

From the FAQ (page 15):

Although considered in play, a Moribund card
cannot be removed from play (or targeted to
be removed from play) again by any effect or
any attempt to pay a cost for the remainder of
the action window.

That would be a bit much to have her be nigh-unkillable in that fashion.

That said, I see much potential use of her in combination with nigh-unkillable Arya.

I had mentioned this in my original post, but I guess everyone thought it wasn't a question (it was only a half-question based on assuming they wouldn't allow such a heinous self-combo like that). That said, there are a few things that can throw her back into shadows aside from Stark chars leaving play, so that could be fun and interesting in a shadows deck. Sister of Truth, Tywin Lannister (consider standing him and using him again after paying for her again), etc. That would be fun, albeit not easy to pull off consistently at all.

Edit: Actually, there's no etc. there. I just looked it up - only those two seem to do it, Tywin and Sister of Truth.

btw: you will have the chance to have gualdo and tiziano sign this card and prints of it at the Tourney of Stahleck!!

Thorondor... you may be getting a card in the mail to take to Stahleck for me. :)

And +1 to Hodor!!!!! Power

Since I thought a lot how to use her here are my options:

Ghost Defender Of the North

Lower the STR of The Hound with shaggy

Arya killed

AutoKill of Lucas Blackwood with greywind

Humber Berserk

Marched to the wall

Wildfire assault (if you choose her inthe '3 to save list')

and the most useful also with chains, 'abandoned fort'

Beautiful card Gualdo. Such cards make me want to play AGoT more and more. One of the best in all AGoT LCG.

I stressed so many friends from different countries to design this... :-) So this is a "collective" card! :-)

Brilliantly well designed to be versatile and useful in almost any situation without being completely overpowered.

Hm. The Wall + Stark Benjen/Stark Jon Snow is an interesting little ditty for this, but it doesn't work as well as I would want, since the character stays out until the end of the challenges phase, not until the end of the challenge. I *really* like the Abandoned Fort idea though. That's sick.

I second everyone here when I say this card is both balanced and highly Nedly, and also looks like it would be incredibly fun to play with.

Unluckly The Wal and Catelyn will not work cause end of phase effects doesn't allow responses to be triggered :-(

I never knew this since one monht :-)

Hm, interesting. I didn't know that. :D Thanks. I obviously like the Ghost idea.

I like the fact that Gualdo now has it set that Brandon Stark looks like him, so that if and when Brandon is made into a card, he's the go-to guy for the model. Sneaky!

Very nice - text blanking is always helpful.

Agreed - always helpful & useful, but not overly powerful/broken.

I feel like this is a prime example of where FFG has gone astray. More cards like this one are needed - as opposed to card that discard/kill when coming into play for relatively cheap costs. Too many no brainers out there that are easy Jaime plays. Cards like Meera can save your bacon, or have to be thought out in combo with another card to get at something. More strategic in my mind & better for the game.

I realize it would be a completely different direction for the game, and probably have required a completely different "evolution" but imagine if most of the _abilities_ where given only to unique characters (requiring lots of them) and most of the non-uniques were limited to keywords, or simpler abilities. It would certainly reduce redundancy, which "hurts" Jaimes, but you could see family members sharing similar abilities, or the same abilities at different stats. ie. Greatjon at 4 for 4MP & xxx, Smalljon 4 for 5M & same. Whoresbane & Crows food 3 for 3MP and 4 for 4MI & similar.

It is particularly obnoxious that Castellan of the Rock is a bomb, and Ser Kevan (who I believe had held the title) isn't even represented in the LCG.
