Ok, this is my absolute first attempt ever at void. I've never really liked it, I've never really respected it... however right now I hate Evil more so I figured why not. Basically the idea is to discard your hand and hit you with a pumped attack. I haven't tried out it yet, so I haven't a clue... but if you have suggestions, let me know. However there are a couple things to note. first, if you are going to suggest something to either to go in or come out, suggest something to come out or go in for said card. Second is this is a single symbol deck, its void and nothing else, not evil, not earth.

Have you thought about running Experienced Combatant, it allows you to tap their Olcadan's so your foundations don't get ravaged, along with seal of Cessation.

due to the fact that I will be blowing through most of my hand, I normally wont be able to fuel it. It might be somthing that gets sided, but right now I dont really see it being of great use. Of course after I get a few chances to test out the deck, I'll be able to better tell.

Since you have the opportunity to draw cards with this deck, I'd suggest finding a place for Chain Of Command and Instinctive Sword Swinging. Unfortunately, I don't know what to tell you to take out for them. The only thing I can suggest is Red Cyclone Of Mother Russia.

I had thought about Chain, however first I need to test the deck to see if that card could work. As for ISS, I dont like the card at all, I think its basically useless and ends up with no ability after being played. maybe if it had much better stats but even that wouldnt help that much.

In my opinion, after running my discard sogetsu deck i would suggest sufficient method of slaying people insted of Red cyclone or maybe valuable experience,

I never liked the card to start off with but for 2 foundations 2 cards from your opponents hand is rather nice and what I overlooked along with some other people is that it can be used on your oppoents turn to limit their card choise and then making it easyer to discard the rest of their hand during your turn. Maybe only three tho considering it is a 4cc with no block.

Just my thoughts. WOOO to disacard!

updated deck, let me know what you think

very solid. Needs answer to Olcadan's, so I'd say if you like the deck a lot, find room for 4x of any card and wait for an answer to be printed.

Yeah, Olc will probably be a problem, though right now only real thing I could do would be to use Red Lotus/Oral Dead, which means I would have to splash off of Evil which would be hard since I would then have to change up everything to add in more evil to make it more consistant... which isnt something Im looking to do. The other option is Blinding Rage but then again I hit the same problem as before.

right now my best bet is to use Lynette's Shop to copy their Olc protection. Of course then I have to find room and add those in.

anyone have any other ideas?

no ideas...........................................?

Why not Experienced Combatent? It puts down Assets as well as foundations. Of course since Jivatma isn't an Order character you'd only get one card down for the two you ditched from your hand but it's a solution isn't it?

You just answered your own question. discarding 2 cards to commit one card, no matter what it is isnt a solution, its at best a temporary fix. like putting a bandaid over an infected wound. Might help but the problem will just get worse until its too late. I could commit something like an Olcadan's, but then what happens when the second one hits? Experienced belongs where it can do the most good, with an order character. Not to mention that its fairly easily negated with stuff like Red Lotus. For a void deck, theres just better options and resources.

So any other ideas?

Sorry guy but I'll go ahead and tell you, as I did extensive research into the matter prior to the SAS, because I wanted to play him off of void there. Unfortunately, there are no answers in a mono-void deck for Owl Face right now, period. Your only choice outside of dual-symboling, which is a pain given his symbol spread, is using experianced combatant, and as you said that is not a very good choice at that.

actually another choice is to use Lynette's Shop to copy their, if any olc protection. Its not a dependable answer but its something. Im aware of void's problem, I too have done my research, however Im not going to let 1 stupid card prevent me from making a deck. True I might not end up ever using him in a "big" event, but then again thats why I have 11 other decks (one for each symbol)

Actually, I went ahead and ran him anyway at the SAS and didn't do that bad. As I recall I came in the above average area, I think it was 15th out of 40-50 people. Olcadan was not that big of an issue. Though this was probably due to the fact that nearly the entire deck was made so that it would strip your hand and let a kuzu powered by STARS go all Nemisis on you. Though I got owned by a Arrogance-Alba deck, I was still able to have fun beating a evil Ibuki deck. The hard part is narrowing down choices of cards to limit the choices of the Olcadan user, but I felt that that was the best option for the deck.

Bump, let me know of any more ideas that could help

Well I tried the deck out a bit at a local tournament. It actually did really well... except when Olc was thrown out, then it basically got bent over a table since none of the attacks could get through. Other then that one stupid asset though, it did fairly good.

yeah... it really sucks that Rejecting the Demons is cycling. I'm hoping for an answer in Set 12 because otherwise Void will never really be viable simply because of Olcadan's...
