A couple of questions?

By Steelemdv94, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

1.) Cards that say "Any Phase" on them, How does this work? What is the legal order for card effects to be resolved? (Example can you use them during challenges?) What if multiple people play "Any Phase" card effects? How do they get resolved?

I ask because we played a game and I challenged my opponent to a military challenge. I had 1 guy out he had 1 guy out. I challenged him with 3 STR. His character had 3 STR. Tie goes to attacker. But he had two wolfs attached to him. One said Kneel wolf to make attacker -2 STR. The other said Kneel Wolf to kill a character with 2 STR or less. Can he use those effects during a challenge like this?

Another example I was being attacked by opponent number 1 with a str of 3. I had no defenders. Then opponent number 2 used the above wolfs in middle of the challenge after the attacker was named. Lowered the attackers str to 1, then used the other wolf to kill him. Is this legal? If so what happens to the challenge? Does he still get the undefended bonus?

2.) Card - Poisoned Wine / Attachment / 2 gold / Item trait / Attached Character gets -2 str / ANY PHASE: Kneel 1 influence to move poisoned wine to another eligible character.

How does this card work? If I Attach this to my opponent, can he then kneel 1 influence to move it to someone else? Or is that effect just for me to use?

3.) Opponent number 1 had a character out with 4 str. Opponent number 3 places an attachment onto him that lowers his str to 0. He then used that character with 0 str and challenges me to an intrigue challenge. As I do not have any intrigue defenders, how is the resolved? The book says you need 1 str to win a challenge. But is the challenge still considered undefended? Does he get his bonus power?

Any time that a player can take actions, all players take turns triggering actions ("Any Phase" or whatever the current phase is), starting with the First Player. You only move on when everyone has played all the actions they want (and can pay for).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what your opponent did with the wolves. That's what they do.

If the only participating character in a challenge is killed - or otherwise removed from play or the challenge - the challenge ends immediately. You can never collect power for an unopposed challenge unless you win the challenge, and you cannot win a challenge without at least 1 participating character and a total STR of 1 or greater. In this case, there is no participating character, so no one can win.

Based on your questions about timing, I am guessing you have not looked at the FAQ. Take a look at the FAQ on the support page (scroll down a bit). It is definitely worth a look. "FAQ" is bad title. It is really more of a supplementary rule book for the game.

Thank you. I have another question.

When you kneel a card with an attachment, do you also kneel the attachment?

Also, When are cards considered revealed? Anytime cards are put into play is that considered revealing them? Or is it just when you have a card that specifically say reveal X number of cards.

Cards are only considered "revealed" when a card effect specifically uses the word "reveal." Examples include House Messenger and Summoning Season.

Also, if you are looking at Grand Maester Pycelle (Core), keep in mind that revealing plots during the plot phase due to the rules will not fulfill the criteria to trigger his response, since it is a framework action and not an opponent's effect that revealed those cards.

No, they remain standing. So, for instance, you could kneel Lightbringer to save the attached character from military claim or Deadly in a challenge.
