BSG Base Game Editions/Printings?

By Eunomiac, in Battlestar Galactica

I've been digging around the web and I can't find any information on this question, so I'm hoping someone here might have the answer!

Missing pieces, print errors and fraying cardboard have prompted me to replace my copy of the core game. I know the Admiral Title Card was fixed in later printings, but I've also read hints that Executive Order was fixed too (i.e. adding "limit 1 per turn"). Are these hints accurate? If so, how can I tell from the box that I'm buying the most recent edition, without breaking the shrinkwrap and checking the cards myself?

Eunomaniac, I do not know if this is correct, but I thought that the "fixed" Executive Order (with 1/turn wording), Investigative Committee (with the Destiny deck still rolling off face down), and Admiral cards (with correct nuke numbers) were only available in the expansions. That's how I fixed mine, but if there's a newer printing of the base game that has these fixes built in, I'm unaware of it.

The only cards you mention that I got in the expansions were Pegasus' Investigative Committees, and according to the UFAQ, they aren't technically "fixes" as the original ICs are still intended for play as-written with the base game. (Interesting question: Which IC is meant to be played with Base + Exodus, no Pegasus? I guess base game "destiny face-up".)

The Admiral Title Cards are unique to each expansion, detailing New Caprica information for Pegasus, and new nuke rules for Exodus. The official FAQ refers to earlier editions of the game having incorrect nuke info, which mine does, so I know there are later printings with fixes at least to the Admiral card. I just need to know whether XO is one of them, and how to know I'm buying the right box!

May I ask when you bought the base game, and whether your Executive Orders have "limit one per turn" (or the equivalent) printed on them? Also, do they have an expansion icon on them?

Eunomiac, I purchased two copies of the base game: the original three years ago and a replacement maybe two or three months ago (from an online retailer). Neither set has correct numbers on the Admiral card, and neither has 1/turn wording on the Executive Order.

As for the Investigative Committee, I am of the strong opinion that the card is overpowered as originally printed and that it should always be played with the Pegasus wording. (I thought I remember hearing Corey say that he considers the original IC a design flaw and that he believes it should always be played with the fixed wording, but I could be imagining that.)

Anyway, don't take my word for any of this. Just spouting off ...
